So I got a phonecall yesterday from a mate of my brothers, a guy called George, he was completely drunk but he was like;

"Gags, Gags (yes it's an irl nickname too), have you seen Salad Fingers?"

I think I mentally froze for a little bit, seriously. It just felt weird hearing someone I know irl say the words of something that is a cult flash on my favourite website.

So of course I tell him that I have.

"Tell your brother, tell Dan, that he needs to watch it! Ah I knew you'd know it! 'I like it when the red water comes out', 'Rusty spoons'." He kept quoting in his drunken state.

Now the phonecall ended rather abruptly before I could ask him where he had watched them, more likely youtube. I tried to mention fat-pie.com on the phone but he seemed out of it, and haven't heard of the other cartoons David Firth has made. Suddenly though all I could think after the call was;

'Oh my god.. What if he watched them on Newgrounds? What if he has an account? What if he checks out the forum and notices the name Gagsy. He'll know that's me, seeing as he's one of the people who have called me that since we were kids. Oh my god, I may have to calm down on my posting!"

Seriously real life and the internet need to stay separate =(

Anyone else had weird real life vs internet stories? Ones with stupid /b/tards are always welcome.

Some of my friends are *channers and my bud Roz has an account here.

I just don't like it when my friends are like, "Anon is watching," because the internet and real life should not mix.

Unless it's relevant.

Without a doubt, but it was originally put on here and I know on Salad Fingers episode 1 on youtube Doki put "I posted this on Newgrounds" or something. PEOPLE COULD BE CURIOUS AND COME HERE!

Haha yeah.
A friend of mine told me that our female friend told him she had a porno of her and a chick on video and was going to burn it for him.
In a stupid sense and thinking I was what you call 'cool' I posted the info on here and a picture, stupidly I linked her bebo so naturally her email came up and someone threatened to show her the link.
I panicked fucking bad but it came over ok.
Still scary.
Since then not much collision has happened and lets hope it stays that way, my back posts are fucking horrendous.

That's why you don't associate yourself with any internet account unless you're sure you're ok with family and friends checking it out.

I strongly agree with this statement.

During my college years, my friends used to tease me about going on Newgrounds all the time, and frequently made up usernames to try and screw with the Forum (posting random threads, following me around and posting about me, etc).

Honestly, it was bad - but it would have been 100x worse if they had the know-how to go into my post history and dig up some of the stuff I've posted on this site.

Being anonymous gives one the freedom to say some things here that I would only discuss with a dearest friend, and I definitely would not want them to reread some of my opinions/stories/etc.

And just in terms of real-life crashing into my internet time, one of my friend's little brothers made an "it's over 9000" comment, and I was tempted to stop him and be like, where did you hear that? If he mentioned 4chan, I was going to lock him in a room until he learned his lesson. If he said newgrounds, I would have changed my username to something that isn't my name. I'm sorta glad I just let it slide and didn't mention it.

Most people I know or are friends with (including my family) know I have an account on here because I tell them, also I never shut the up about what I see if its funny.
One picture I saw on here once prompted about three weeks of constant meme action between my sisters, me and several of our cousins and several of my friends.
Its not a real meme by the way, one we generated... and its still going among us actually.

My friend talked to me on here once, his account got deleted, lol. And my friend almost found my Newgrounds account, since he found my deviant art account by googling my name...

Well I wouldn't even be Gagsy if it wasn't for real life peeps. I'd probably have an even gayer name, but yeah they all know I'm an internet freak anyway.

I'm more worried about the shit I put on my blog, some girl I know online who discovered my NG account embarasses me a little enough when she's like "Oh I read your story" and "So you like yaoi?".

Oh, lordy. Last year some obnoxious kid that thinks he's my friend made a Newgrounds account. He would come up and start quoting my earlier posts and laughing at them. Just kind of an "Ehhh?" thing going on there.

3 of my IRL friends came to Newgrounds because of me, they just watch flash and review a bit.
I'm really glad that they don't post on the BBS.

I showed all my mates fat-pie and they came buckets.

I know this crazy /b/tard in my school who always hugs people. I remember him talking about 4chan and I was all like "Oh, why do you go on there, then?" and he just goes "CP.". Then I have all these kids who know about the shoop da woop meme, which is a bloody piss-take when they all shout IMMA CHARGIN MAH fuck you.

My school's site has a forum on it, too, and there it's flooded with silly memes and other shit - more of a cesspool than 4chan, so, I guess we have quite a few /b/tards in my school.

My ignorant younger brother decided to make an account on here. He had about 30 posts, 25 of which being signature requests. He didn't understand when I explained to him how nooby that was, and just went on to say "It's just sum dumb websiet, itz not lyke u hav 2 spel perfict."

Needless to say, if my brother had 5 more IQ points, he would have worked out how to search my posts. Thank god his IQ is the same as his age.

This dude I know (not too tight with him but still one of the ol' local yokels) once brought up Foamy the squirrel while we at the bar, going on about how everything he said was "so true man!"

I instantly felt compelled to strangulate him but I decided against it. He was, after all, 200 lbs. heavier than me.

Yeah, that's why I'm never too passionate in my posts.

I am lifeless.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me if someone found my account. Sort of, I would be wayyy less enthusiastic in my posts and not talk about a lot of personal crap. Not into making a new account though :p.

So, just be how you act in real life. If your one of those people who are quiet at school and exert all there feelings here, well then. Don't be too weird :p.

Haha...its true, Theres a kid at school who just discovered 4chan and is running around shouting about memes (yes I want to slap him)

I found this a while ago

If you ask me its because the "internet generation" is getting simultaneously more socially confident, larger and smarter as it grows older.

what to do what to do...well at least we'll all be there to say "Omg I knew about that before anybody else!!1one!"
