Banjo Kazooie N&b Demo Impressions

Well, I finally got to play the new Banjo game yesterday..., and I have to let someone know what I think.

Well Ill start with the stuff I like:
- The graphics are great, its very vibrant art style.
- The sound is also great, voices sound good and music sounds amazingly epic.
- Banjo land also looks really badass.
- There is some platforming you have to do to get certain notes/items for vehicles.
- I also thought creating a vehicle and editing it was pretty fun, especially when you can add weapons, or change the body depending on role.

The cons:
- The text is really small, but they should fix this.
- Kazooie got majorly nerfed, she cant even glide anymore. I know this was a design choice because the vehicles replaced everything, but even banjos attacks dont feel right.
- although the voices sound cool, they dont synch with the words. But like the text, they should fix that.

The iffy:
_ The pace of the game is a little slower.
- Some challenges are tedious, although that could just be me.
- The game is kinds forgiving in allowing you to flip your vehicle while in it.

Overall, it looks kinda cool, but I think Ill get GoW2 before I get this.

So what do you guys think?

I would probable play the game if I got a 360- I always had a soft spot in my heart for the animal duo, they rocked on the 64.

For me and many others this is the biggest disappointment I ever had with video games, especially because of how long we waited and now that there are really no decent platform games to look forward to on any console in the near future. Banjo-Kazooie is my all time favorite game and now it's gone.

I feel your pain, it killed a little childhood version of me inside to see banjo's fug-ugly block appearance in the teaser trailer last year some time.
They did fuck with the formula too much- but we've got to accept it mainly because RARE is a fucked brand now.

I've only played the beginning part of it, and I was hit with a ridiculously long tutorial with text so small I couldn't read it. But then when I was in the actual game, I kinda liked the graphics, but it just didn't seem as fun as the originals. Right now it seems nothing like a real Banjo Kazooie game, more like a completely new game just using the title to get more sales.

Also... while it was loading it said something like 'If you don't like the vehicles, then go buy the first game on XBLA'. WTF.

Didn't most the original RARE team separate after Perfect Dark was released? A lot of them started their own companies I think.

Either way, I'm still scarred by the disappointment of Perfect Dark Zero..

I don't know... the thing is that ALL of the games they released on the N64 were killer and then came the next saga... Dino Planet (I refuse to call it 'star fox adventures') was ok but they ruined the game itself.
If they did have some veer off then hopefully they can make some decent games.

Well, it's still in the demo... maybe they'll get that fixed.

Anyways, I wish they sticked to the original platformer style seeing as how I hate having to be able to customize things with a gajillion parts (like the Gummi Ships in Kingdom Hearts). As soon as I heard that the new BK was getting all customizable, a little part of me died inside knowing that I'll never see a new BK like the originals.

But hey, maybe... just maybe they'll make another BK that's a platformer...

No, they didn't. I recently went back and played the first one and had fun for the first few minutes or so until I realized that all you're fucking doing is collecting shit. Same goes for most platformers of that era. Spyro (as much as we all love it) is basically the same thing.

I found it fun and funny. me and my bro were having lots of funning making crazy and crap vechicals so cant wait. yes GoW2 is much better but banjo will probley be my favorite game that isnt based around war and fighting (even though you do get some funny weapons in it).

Well, it's still in the demo... maybe they'll get that fixed.

I heard this is Rare's third attempt at making a sequel to Tooie. They elaborated on what they tried earlier. I quite liked the sound of the Second attempt for the GameCube. It was something about a Bee king/queen attacking spiral mountain and you need to recover it by defeating the queen bee. Or something like that. I can't quite remembered. But it sounded like a descent BK game. But they ditched it because "it wasn't next gen enough".

*sigh* Another reason why I hate next gen gaming.
