This is tragic. Can you imagine being that kids parents or brothers? Trick or treating is supposed to be fun and then something like this happens. Wow.

I feel it's necessary to say that people think the world is more dangerous than it is, thanks to 24/7 rolling news updates and the internet and everything. Millions and millions of kids went trick or treating today and didn't get shot or abducted.

Children dressed incognito handed out pumpkins to seniors at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital Friday, while tiny goblins, miniature Care Bears and pint-sized Batmans roamed downtown in search of a sugar high on Halloween.

Elementary school students from Hennessy School presented the residents of Golden Empire with tiny pumpkins donated by the Grass Valley Rotary and sang patriotic songs.
