Looks good! :) Maybe if you maybe the server come up with all that binary stuff and the little slots turn green?

Looks clean and crisp but not very professional. I can't put my finger exactly on why though.

You might want to change the background. I like the pixely map idea but the pixels seem too far apart.

thanks, if you can think of something to make it more professional, it'd be greatly appreciated.

you mean the 2 sections? (north/south america and asia/south asia etc) are too far apart? cause if that's what you mean, im suprised you noticed that i did that :P

if it's obvious i'll change it back, if you mean something else, please tell

that's possible, do you mean detail on the laptop and servers? i can work on them, and add keys and such, and make them look more realistic while still being obviously just a representation

Nice, try tweaking the transitions of the text as they come and go, experiment with blur filters and easing. Possibly try getting the binary and data transfer effects a little fancier in a techy kind of way, maybe some of the digits glowing a brighter green as they drop in, not too sure - maybe not. An upbeat but simple music loop would do this great justice.

Took another glance - when the binary loads into the laptop initially, maybe try reducing it's size and have it feed in behind the file icon on the screen? Not coming out the bottom of course.

When the data then transfers to the server, the binary digits need a little work there I think. Initial thought is more use of the blur filter and a little speed on the tween. If you wanted to throw a slightly playful spin on things, you could have the line of binary zip over from the laptop to the server, and once the tail end of it disappears have a few loose binary digits come flying off and falling downward.

You should fix the button at the beginning. There is a large clickable area around the computer. That part I don't think is very professional. Other than that, it looks really well done.

I think it's kinda slow. Making it slightly faster gives it more edge, along with some sound effects.

Try to make the viewer feel smart :P

Maybe you should make the shading more... radial or linear.

whats your frame rate? maybe speed that up. the words seem choppy.

I think that background it really good don't bother that.

Find a less gimmicky way of illustrating the encryption process, slow the animation down a bit, pick a slower frame rate (like 24), desaturate the laptop's screen, change the font color (red seems kind of aggressive), pick better phrasing maybe.

agreed, i'll work on that, and i'll experiment with filters, but im not looking to lag the hell out of the viewer. and the binary digits falling down would suggest that data is lost = bad. :P

yeah, i did that on perpose, i'll just make the laptop clickable.

actualy it is fairly fast, you just can't tell cause i don't have a loading bar in there and the video is under some perma lag atm.
either way, by a rule you should have enough time to read each line 3 times

i'll experiment with shading, and im at 30 right now, it's because the video doesn't load initially

i'll try some things with the encryption, and i don't like working at 24, the video isn't smooth, but i'll space things out a bit and add more frames.

agreed on the desaturation, and origionaly the font color was to match the companies colors but, im not bound by that. i'll try blue :P

Thanks for the comments everyone! me and my wallet all greatly appreciate the help :) :P
please keep commenting and i'll post my progress again after i put in a little more work.
there will likely be multiple version.

In my opinion, that's very good. It is understandable, looks good, and isn't too long or short. I think you should go into a little more detail, though (or, even better, have the option of doing so), as it is just a little too basic for what I think it may be used for.

I would mask the screen so the "encryption" animation stays within the monitor.

Don't blur it as much, just enough to notice it is, but not enough to take away all of the sharp edges.

Smooth movement isn't always appropriate. It tends to make things look more cartoonish.

Thanks for the help so far, i've noticed some things that i too didn't like so i decided to just redo the whole thing, here's what i have so far.

http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/4108/486 76_DataGuardVideoHQ.php

i cut down on animation to improve on detail, is that a bad thing?
