Treasure Hunt 2008 RESULTS 1/4 2008-10-24 12:22:38

Check out the new Mastermind shirt in the store! That's Swain modelling it in the office.

The Treasure Hunt thread received 1,138 replies with thousands of recommendations. I watched EVERY SINGLE ONE and parsed them into a list of almost 180 submissions for consideration.

And the winners is:

  • Unsuitable Submission

    This submission contains age-rated material and requires an account to view.

LOL just kidding! Although that one DID almost win for getting the most lulz. I actually decided to split my list into FOUR posts. This first post will cover undiscovered movies, while upcoming posts will examine undiscovered games, unappreciated front pagers and lesser-known works by celebrated artists, and finally, undiscovered series. I'm tempted to accept more suggestions to flesh out the upcoming lists, but we'll talk about that next week. For now, try to watch everything on this list and post about which ones you liked best.

If you only watch the front page, this is just a taste of what you're missing. If you watch ALL of these movies, congrats; you can call yourself a Newgrounder for the next year.

I'll start with some neat movies that can occasionally be disturbing.

If you're looking for a laugh, or at least for something that's intended to be funny, here's what floated to the surface this year:

Picking a winner is always hard, but this one had that "gem" quality to it:

The $250 prize goes to Slintas for this awesome find! It wasn't until seeing Hallucinaliens that I then watched and front paged Custodial Catastrophe, a more recent movie by the same author. I'm looking forward to seeing what VillainousTurtleSLC does next!

Yeah, I was tempted to post some of these as text links, but I just hate trying to prioritize what should be seen and what shouldn't, which is why I'm really pushing that people sit their ass down and watch it ALL this weekend for the sake of NG CITIZENSHIP and shit.

HOLY COW DUDES!

Okay I am trying to watch all these films, but wow! I mean there are a lot, and I on't know if my favorites has room enough!! I mean I already added Comfort, The Greyhound, and the one with the pinky stripy thing! lulz

Seriously I have only watched 6 of them so far, and I am in love with NG more than ever now. I never realized how many flash works or art go unnoticed. And it's not a bad thing, but it's like wow.

I mean the only really popular flashes are from the usual peeps and a couple of random others. But most of what I am watching now is better then the shit on the Top 50.

I'm not upset or anything because THAT'S LIFE! But I am just fucking happy that NG has a treaure hunt. I think this should be a monthly thing!

Anyway back to my NG Home Work from Tom! LOL I gotta watch these films man it's addictive. And hey I have no job and I don't go to school so... Hell, it pays to be a starving artist/ Pro Gambler ;)
