It's very obvious that children + politics= bad mix. They don't even know what they're talking about of course, and this 12 year old wasn't even old enough to know much about the Clinton administration years. Politics apparently spares no one from involvement.

Of course not. In the end politics has become a shell game now that isn't about the truth, but it's about using whatever means seems most effective to get your idea of "truth" out there and over to the masses.
People bitch about the fakery involved in pro-wrestling. But at least they've had the decency to admit that they're a con :)

Oh god. That's just, well, wow. That just shows how brainwashed those poor kids are by their parents/education. I feel sorry for the next generation of America tbh, along with the rest of the world.

I think it is ok for children to get interested in politics, despite the fact that their views tend to be completely delusional.
I prefer that they have delusional views when they can't vote, then grow up, and then vote responsibly.

Why is it such a big deal? They can't vote and I doubt they will always agree with their parents. There is that whole "teenage" phase we go through, or your still in. I think your making a big deal out of nothing. You're pissed because they are saying what their parents say? WE ALL DID THAT. Or maybe you when you were that age actually sat down and debated your parents on the economy or the war on terror.......
I think it's great to see children that young excited about politics, even if they don't understand it. As they get older and wiser they will come to their own thoughts and ideas about politics. I mean my party choice has changed three times since I could vote. Just because they mimic their parents now doesn't mean they will do it later on.
Do you get pissed when 12yr olds argue about who's dad can beat up the other one's dad?

At the age of twelve I personally strayed away from subjects that I didn't have very much knowledge on. The issues that I did argue with my friends and parents were ones that I was actually somewhat knowledgeable in like god, abortion, etc.

I personally am not so excited to see kids being brainwashed and having bias planted into them at such a young age.

I get annoyed yes. But kids are kids, they cant be held responsible for their stupidity at that age. It doesn't mean it doesn't annoy me when I see a bunch of 12 year old retards arguing over something they don't at all understand.

I think it is good for children to learn to have their own opinion - it is just questionable as to whether or not political views like this reflect that sort of behaviour. I would rather see children asking critical or cynical questions of their leaders and leaving the answers "up in the air" then making attempts at weighing in on the answers alone. Kids can spew back something they have heard from an authority figure very readily. The more thoughtful kids (and usually viewed as the most rebellious) will question authority instead. If some kid wants to explain to me why she supports the Green party, I'm more attentive than I would be for some kid explaining why "Bush sucks" or "Obama would make a terrible leader." Kids are capable of much more than we (adults) ALLOW them to be.

I think he's implying they'll correct their views before they are older if they are exposed to different ideologies at a younger age.

Technically, yes, that is how you are supposed to vote, for what you think is right. Why would you vote for something else?

Well isn't that something? I still think that they are a little to young to fully understand what's going on in politics but getting involved is a good thing perhaps.
