The stereotype goes back to old times when people who read alot or were scholars would actually need glasses if there eyes went bad so if you picked a fight with someone wearing glasses you were fighting with an intellectual. None of that applys what so ever now nor has it for quite a few decades.

Perhaps I should have explained that better. I had no idea I had insulted her friend it was mainly a result of me not walking away from catcalling and crude innuendo on the part of some of the girls other friends that they insisted on including her on. I understand why the violent girl thought so though and I further realized that I (and, frankly, everyone else) could have handled that previous situation better.

When I first met her though, I didn't know why she wanted me to remove my glasses. She just came up and, polite as you please, asked me to take them off and the moment they WERE off she started hitting me continuously on the head for 5 to 10 swings or so. I had no idea it was coming and the first hit knocked me for a loop. I was sucker punched and it's not easy for ANYONE to win if another gets a first good blow that you were not expecting. Especially if it stops just as quick.

It wasn't overly painful though (mostly disorientating) and I didn't really care to fight. So I simply apologized for my perceived slight of her friend and she stopped. It was over pretty fast. I consider the whole thing an important learning experience in how the whole thing had led up to that point. It was completely unnecessary for it to have taken place at all and it never did again.

I've had a basketball hit me in the face, I've beaned someone in the face at a volleyball tournament, and I've kneed myself while doing a roll off a gymnastic horse.

Besides glasses still being expensive, my parents couldn't afford to get me new glasses if I broke them. I can't afford to get them now. I rather not have to deal with what my older brother went through when he got hit in the face, and his glasses shattered, and his face was a bloody mess.

So fucking don't hit me in the fucking face. And unless you want to be a complete douchebag who's known for hitting people with glasses, don't do it. Or I'm going to send you a bill for getting my eyes checked/medical bill if I need stitches, but I'm going to go on all-rage mode, and I may be vision-impaired, but I'm not that blind so I can find you, and I don't care where my fingernails go, but I will make sure that you hurt. And that you hurt bad for basically blinding me.

I've face-planted off a skateboard and when I got in an accident, the airbag knocked them off my face. It didn't hurt either time. Okay the skateboard one hurt, cause I was still faceplanting into cement, but still...

Some people (like me) are completely blind without glasses and sometimes still lack 20/20 even with them on. There's no honor or class in fighting someone with a serious sight impediment, unless you're a dick and don't care about how little everyone respects you.
