Is it bad if I carry weapons?

When I'm out of school (no, I would never bring a weapon to school) I normally carry a knife. Basically, I carry a knife for self protection and for utility purposes. I often use it to just cut things, but it gives you some security when you need it. I can't really fight, but trust me, give me a knife and your fucked. Is this good or bad? I've heard that carrying weapons is a bad thing, but they can be a very good thing to have if you know how to use them. I always carry a knife when when I'm outdoors. My knife of choice is a 10" bowie knife for general carrying, but when I'm in public it's a little odd to see a 13 year old carrying such a big knife. When I'm in public I carry a pocket knife, which is mostly for utility use.

Look, I'm not some dumbass kid that goes out and pisses people off knowing that they can't do anything or else I'll stab them. If I don't have a reason to carry a knife, I don't, like when I'm, just heading off to the supermarket. I don't showoff with my knife either.

I have a Swiss army thinger mabober. That I can flick the blade out of very intimidatingly, and I can probally fuck up someone with it, if they try to mug me or something, Other then that No knives, and I've taken this swiss army thinger with me to school to put together a project, and no one gave me a passing glance.

Na, its O.K. to carry weapons. I mean, the world is pretty fucked up, and a little defense could be the difference between going home or well...you get it.

I carry my fisherman's knife. All it is is a blade, tiny saw, pliers, phillip's screw driver, and other little stuff that i might need one day.

No. Because -

If you don't already know how to fight and you pull a knife on someone, there's an extremely high chance they'll take it off you and you'll get stabbed.

Also, it's not worth the risk of being searched by the police and having the knife discovered and getting a criminal record for carrying an offensive weapon.

I spend a few weeks carrying a knife around, and although I've never felt scared or nervous of a fight, I found myself freaking out whenever a police car went by.

2) No, but if I did, probably a switchblade, or a butterfly knife. Assuming you don't cut yourself, you'd look pretty intimidating pulling it out. But I dunno.

3) If you live in that kind of place, it's better than nothing. But if you have that law where you live, a gun might be better.

2. Whichever one in my collection is most appealing at the moment. Usualy a short blade serrated.
3. I think it is a very good thing to carry a weapon. Not nececarily for a thirteen year old, if you're responsible then I don't see any problem with it.
