I'm making a new game: http://www.thepoxbox.com/what.php?id=ske pquiz
It's just a quiz game about science, hoaxes, pseudo-sciences, conspiracies or just weird facts people didn't know about.
So I'm asking you smart guys and gals to help me out and submit some questions if you so desire! I'll put your username in the credits! WOAH AWESOME!
What I need:
- submit a question that would fit in the box
- give me the 4 choices and the answer ( or just the answer if it's a true/false question )
- link me to a source that proves your claim
- link me to an image if you want me to use one.
==============
Fun opportunity for all to learn! Keep in mind that if I pick your question ( and I probably will pick a lot as long as they don't suck ) it will be seen by thousands. Yaaaaay.

cool, but don't make them related to entertainment unless there's something scientific about it.
Like sports records, singer names, sales of albums. Not what this is about.

Poxpower shame on you,
Your own article regarding Benjamin Franklin debunking hypnosis states that there's a scientific agreement that hypnosis can allow for an individuals mind to be more open to suggestion. You make it sound like in your quiz that hypnosis has been scientifically debunked for 200 years.
why don't you ask a question about king arthur.

That's not what hypnosis claims. It claims that through it, you can make someone do anything against their will, and do such things as: levitate, resist any amount of pain, remember things from previous lives etc. etc.
While all hypnosis really is is a patient-hypnotist relation where they both agree that it works and then proceed to fool each other into doing what they expect will happen. Placebo effect basically, and producing a placebo effect doesn't legitimize anything since you can find it in just about every pseudo-science, including ones you make up on the spot ( if you've ever watched Penn and Teller's bullshit, you'll see they have fun with making up new treatments for people and the patients claim it works just as much as when the real charlatans do it ).
When you test hypnotists for anything that can't simply be explained with this self-suggestion effect, it fails miserably.
why don't you ask a question about king arthur.
I could.

Only an illusionist would pretend that hypnosis can do the kinds of things. Also, the article you referenced explained that the effect can be induced. Meh. I personally would rephrase the question to asking what hypnosis is. With one or a few of the options being dealing with mind control and the other option referring to the state of mind where your body is open to suggestion.

2) First conceived as a mythical hero in the 12th century, but never actually existed

I think you should look into what's the mainstream definition of hypnosis.

o
Most Archeologists Believe that it's C, a Romanized Celt of the 6th century who fought against invading Anglos, Saxons, and Jutes, answer A is flat out wrong, and answers B and D are wrong because they use the word 'first' rather than 'later'.
You can also change CELTIC to ROMAN, technically he was both.

Let x=y: dlny/dlnx = 1, trivial.
according to your answer: dlnx/dlnx = ln(x). Wrong indeed.

I love that book! Got it for my dad's birthday and read it before I gave it to him. Loads of surprises, but not much in the way of skeptical knowledge, though it does illustrate that just because lots of people know its true (ie, the Great Wall of China being visible from the moon), doesn't mean it actually is true.

well that's sorta lame, I mean, it floats cause it's less dense than water so who cares how they do it? :p not that suprising. If you could make it more like "Ivory Soap is the only one that floats because of BLABLA MAGIC SPELL" or whatever, or if you have some sort of Ivory-related urban legend that people know.
4. Brittish Officer Commander Ian Lancaster Fleming created fictional spy James Bond. Fleming himself was a "spy". He helped establish a "spy" agency himself. Which one?
