What I meant about me getting onto the pentalist was that I didn't realize I had 10K in two stats (I was more concentrated on total B/P) and that it was just an unexpected benefit from getting to EGSC.

Yeah. There's always multiple benefits to getting EGSC. Unless you suck and have 25k blams and only 5k saves or something. Then you suck, and don't get to be on the pentalist.

Right. I actually knew of the beginnings of the list, which is why I was surprised that I had made it on. I actually forgot that blams and/or protects count as a 10000+ requisite, which is why it was a nice surprise to find me on the list. As I said before, it does feel good to be part of such a selective group on NG.

Well, the list has changed 3 or 4 times in its history, so it's no surprise that even people familiar with its origins haven't kept up with the full requirements to this date.

Make yourself at home. I am but the listmaker, we're all fans of stats, this isn't a club, there's no numbers given out but the ranking you earn yourself on the list. Keep that in mind and all will be fine. #;-}>

Of course. I never thought of it as anything different. And yes, I fully understand the ranking system (and its basis), so there's no cause for worry. I knew right from the start that I earned my spot on the list, and I wasn't put there for any other reason. Everything's just fine. :-P

so the order doesn't mean much except "shit towards the top needs to be paid attention to so I don't miss any new 2x10ks for the next update," and that's the only reason I tried to explain it briefly to you, since I was trying to reassure you that you were fairly close to the 9x/10k area anyway, and now you're safely within in, so all is well for you getting noticed by myself come update time.

First off theres harryjarry id #1215643 , and RemRulzz id #1180272. They both already have over 10,000 saves.
You didn't have either of them on Augusts update but they both reached over 10,000 saves in the past week, after the data pull.

God both those guys on the spreadsheet, not to worry.

You were in the 148th row, harryjarry was in #149, and RemRulzz was in #140, so I already had all of ya. Thanks for the heads up there, though.

I already responded to this issue twice. Once on NG, once on RG.

I'm never adding anything else to this list. The only changes in the future are these possible changes:

A) change from once a month to even less often (quite likely eventually, if not a complete stopping of the list at some point as X-Naut, I believe, predicted).

B) change to top 100 or some arbitrary cut off, if the number of users becomes too great to manage with my schedule.

C) change to 3x10k requirement, for same reasons as above.

I would lean more towards A and C at some point.

I don't consider audio reviews a major stat. Even if liljim makes a top 50 BBS reviews list and then a top 50 audio reviews list, I still won't. Sames goes if he made a top 50 BBS review responses list.

blams, saves, exp, reviews = the main stats of the NG Flash portal.

posts = the main stat of the NG BBS.

That's all I'm ever listing with this.

Well I finally got my saves above 50% of my blams, which had been something I'd wanted to achieve for ages. I bot it because of Clock Day though, which makes it seem like less of an achievement, even though I was getting there bit by bit without it...

Yeah, losing reviews is annoying, and you lose a lot when you have so goddamn many. I don't really lose many posts though, and it's odd when I do. I recall a few months back I lost over 10 posts suddenly, I still have no idea which thread could have gotten deleted for such a thing to happen...

I remember Clock Day helping a lot in 2005, BTW, but not THIS much. Course, the updates were every week back then, so that's probably why.

I finally finished adding ALL stats and ALL names to the people I added from the top 500 exp list in July. I haven't added anyone new yet since then, but I guess I'll have to sooner or later. The only alternative is rely ONLY on you guys for help. And as helpful as major_punk and Bahamut have been, they're only two guys and they can't be expected to find EVERYONE I miss as the months go by... especially if I start slacking in that department, as... trust me... I am tempted to do more and moreso.

Anyway, data pull for the 108 members was done on Monday night and Tuesday evening. Data pull for the 1x10ks and 0x10ks was done on Thursday and Saturday night when I had the chance. Obviously, that gives them more time to gain more stats, but that'll just lower their gains for next month, and it's not all that big a deal. Just gives a few more people a chance to make 1x10k or 2x10k for the current update instead of the next one. I ain't playin' favourites, it's just about getting the update done with as little mess and wait as possible but also not causing me to lose sleep at the same time.

I think it worked out a lot better this time than in August (update being posted on the 10th after being started on the 4th is certainly better than being posted on the 18th after being started on the 8th or 9th last month #;-}>).

Four asterisks on the LLL this time. Despite clock day, the best anyone on this update could do was 4th place on the LLL, so our top 3 from last month is intact for now. Enjoy the pentalist and enjoy the LLL! Me? I'm just glad I'm still in the top 10 of the pentalist... FOR NOW. (gulp) Here ya goes:

Well CLock day has become somthing it was never intended to be. Mis used by some, and used properly by others. It was a site to behold that is for sure. Yet another clock day for me 5 years of them. We set a record for number of reviews on that day as well.

Well I knew Afro and his crazy numbers would be on top. I have returned to putting up the numbers Iwas putting up before. I have been giving them a run for their money on the BP list as of late. Doing it twice a month wouldn't really help with the "hard list to update, no matter how often I do it" part, you know.

I was surprised you didn't add him on to the page.

I've corrected my updates in the past, mostly for spelling or a typo or a screw up or a wrong stat in the "stat stats" numbers... more rarely for actual list-part-data-wrongness, since that doesn't happen as often, fortunately.

But it takes time, and it's a waste of time, IMO, so I don't do it no more.

Any peops I leave off an update, especially if it's just a 1x10k mention or a 9k/10k list inclusion... just have to wait till next time.

After all, if I wanted to be REALLY accurate, the people with like 17,000 blams (such as the one I gave belated congrats to today) would need to be added to the 1x10k list back in like March or April.

I'm not gonna go back half a dozen updates to make a small change to make everything 100% accurate. #;-}>

I should probably start tracking everyone with 10K+ Saves and Blams for you in case you miss someone, considering those are both stats I track...

Although I wouldn't be insanely shocked if it turns out I'm missing someone who should be on the list RIGHT NOW, I'm more worried about future inductees who I'm going to miss.

Of course, some of those could be over 10k in blams right now, and will hit 10k saves without me noticing first... so in that case, checking everyone with 10k+ saves or 10k+ blams would be teh good method, actually.

I've been more worried in the past few months about the 10k exp and 10k post people. Which is why I updated a shitload of high posters back in February or so, and updated up through the top 500 expers in July.

I need to check up on b/p and posts again, though.

And it would help if I just made sure I had everyone on the top 500 exp every two months or so. Cause when I wait a year to do it, it takes forever to add the 100+ new people that are in the top 500 exp to my spreadsheet. I think it was almost 150 people this time around. EUUGUGHGHGHGH...

When there's 100+ EGSC's, EGSC will be totally meaningless. Unless of course you're right at the top, or near it.

Well yeah. And similarly, being near the top of the pentalist will always be cooler than just being on it.

But that said, when I changed over from quad to penta... and when it then cut down to 2x10k and we had only 30 people on it... it was small and exclusive enough that being in the 20-30 range was just about as cool as being in the top 20 or top 10, if not quite as impressive.

Well I finally got my saves above 50% of my blams, which had been something I'd wanted to achieve for ages. I bot it because of Clock Day though, which makes it seem like less of an achievement, even though I was getting there bit by bit without it...

Awesome. I don't think that matters, personally. Clock Day is part of the portal, so it's perfectly natural to gain stats from it... just as natural as the shit and good stuff that comes through the portal on the other 364/365 days of the year.

Yeah, losing reviews is annoying, and you lose a lot when you have so goddamn many. I don't really lose many posts though, and it's odd when I do. I recall a few months back I lost over 10 posts suddenly, I still have no idea which thread could have gotten deleted for such a thing to happen...

I have reviewed my way back up to 654 reviews like TWO OR THREE times in the past few months... and AGAIN this past week I slip down to 653... and then this weekend, 652. (sigh)

I'm just glad that it slipped a second time before I reviewed that ONE flash, so now I just have to get into a reviewing mood once, not twice.

Actually, no it didn't. I may have posted the update on 8/18, but if you didn't notice, it is dated as (and thus the data is meant to be closest in actual "origin" to) 8/09.

Most of the data pull was before Clock Day. Certainly for all the 108 members that were on the list as of 8/09.

So your Clock Day stats are on this new update, the 9/04 update I just posted today, 9/10.

As long as it's still being used properly by some, it's a day worth having. If it ever becomes 99% free protect points, then I say kill it (if that's possible).

I liked Clock Day 2003 the best of the ones I was there for. I didn't experience much of 2005 and 2006. In 2005 I was retiring gfoxcook, so I didn't vote much on the day... got a few saves, though. And in 2006, I basically missed the whole day, though I got 100 easy saves for gfoxclock AFTER midnight, since people were still submitting stuff and stuff was getting to 200 votes remarkably slowly at that point.

I can't remember CD 2004 too well for some reason. Oh wait, maybe that was the year I reviewed 100 CD flashes. I think so. Yeah, that was nifty, too.

Well I knew Afro and his crazy numbers would be on top. I have returned to putting up the numbers Iwas putting up before. I have been giving them a run for their money on the BP list as of late. I got a couple updates till the end of the year to possibly keep it up. Not sure how the schedule will work out. Thanks for the update.

Hmm, I've had a think about this for most of the morning (while browsing some of the more interesting junk mail which has come into the office - discount fireworks... I'm sorely tempted to waste my credit limit on explosives and have a nice weekend)

Then I'd say it's B/P, as I'm averaging a pace of more than 10 per day. Averaging 10 blams and 10 saves would be much more difficult, but still doable.

Posts is my major downfall, sadly. Weekdays, I can hit 10 per day, but I rarely post on weekends (mainly because I'm hardly at a computer) I can hardly think of good things to say when I'm there.

Of course, the point you missed was also reviews. Maybe you'd have to lower it, as reviews take more time and effort than posts, lets face it. I've made 10 reviews a day on about 3 different days and I'm approaching my 1,000th day as a Newgrounder...

If I look back at my own records/stats/notes/NG log, I gained somewhere around 5,000 total points between Aug 9th , and Sept 9th.

I didn't expect to gain nearly that many points and even with that many, I didn't make it into the 80's. This is tougher then I thought.

Well, I probibly will be able to make it as long as I make decent gains. But last month was a freakishly amazing month for me, like I have never gained that much ever before, EVER.

This month so far has been WAY better then usual and one of those reasons is I got suspended for 7 days my 3rd day of school so while everyone else is at school, I gain stats on Newgrounds... haha.

When I made that my goal I was assuming I would drop back to my old pace, since school and work etc will really effect me. To give you an idea of how much time that can consume, between June and July I gained less then 1,000 total points... =(

Ofcourse it won't effect me that much, but I definately won't be gaining anywhere near 5,000 points a month anymore, heh.

I've corrected my updates in the past, mostly for spelling or a typo or a screw up or a wrong stat in the "stat stats" numbers... more rarely for actual list-part-data-wrongness, since that doesn't happen as often, fortunately.

LevelOneAccount is approaching 10K blams by the way. It might be quite a while till that account reaches it though. That connection has been absolutely dreadful recently.

After all, if I wanted to be REALLY accurate, the people with like 17,000 blams (such as the one I gave belated congrats to today) would need to be added to the 1x10k list back in like March or April.

Yeah, there's always those who slip through the cracks. I find people who should be on my responses list and aren't quite a bit. I wouldn't be too surprised if there's over 10 people missing...

I've been more worried in the past few months about the 10k exp and 10k post people. Which is why I updated a shitload of high posters back in February or so, and updated up through the top 500 expers in July.

You'd think that the top posters would be easy to find. But some people manage to rack up thousands and thousands of posts, yet go unnoticed.

And it would help if I just made sure I had everyone on the top 500 exp every two months or so. Cause when I wait a year to do it, it takes forever to add the 100+ new people that are in the top 500 exp to my spreadsheet. I think it was almost 150 people this time around. EUUGUGHGHGHGH...

Well yeah. And similarly, being near the top of the pentalist will always be cooler than just being on it.

Indeed, being near the bottom is practically meaningless.

But that said, when I changed over from quad to penta... and when it then cut down to 2x10k and we had only 30 people on it... it was small and exclusive enough that being in the 20-30 range was just about as cool as being in the top 20 or top 10, if not quite as impressive.

In a lot of cases where I have done that, the question either goes unanswered for a ridiculous period of time, or someone posts giving the wrong answer, or just answers the question really badly.

Awesome. I don't think that matters, personally. Clock Day is part of the portal, so it's perfectly natural to gain stats from it... just as natural as the shit and good stuff that comes through the portal on the other 364/365 days of the year.

True. But getting there the hard way would have just felt like I eanrt it more. It would have been nicer to see myself gradually getting there and it being within reach, rather than it happening fast.

I have reviewed my way back up to 654 reviews like TWO OR THREE times in the past few months... and AGAIN this past week I slip down to 653... and then this weekend, 652. (sigh)

I imagine that would be even more annoying if you're wanting to stick on a certain number.

I once had over 2000 reviews, now I'm 62 short. I wouldn't be surprised if I was over 100 short this time next year...

I'm just glad that it slipped a second time before I reviewed that ONE flash, so now I just have to get into a reviewing mood once, not twice.

Yeah, reviewing is annoying. Mainly because it tends to be so boring, so you have to really be in the mood for doing it. Especially when you write long ones, because then you feel that each review you write has to use up all or almost all of the characters, or pass the number of characters you're allowed. That's why I retired.

As many of you might have guessed, even though October 1st was on a Sunday, I counted the 7th/8th weekend as the first weekend of October. I took off Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday from work because my sister was in town for the first time in almost a year, so I hung out with her some. And I found the time to start the data pull on 10/09 and 10/10. I actually had ~80 profiles open until Friday on my desktop's Firefox tabs (thank god for my laptop for teh everyday tasks) as I hadn't had time to pull the data, but at least they were OPEN from 10/10, thus preserving teh accurate data. As a result, I got all that shit done on Friday night, and come Saturday I was able to make the list itself, the update notes and stats and all, and only spent a couple hours on it tonight. Actually finished it 2 hours ago but didn't get around to posting about the update until now. I wonder if any of you have visited the site in those 2 hours and gone "buzzuh? Greg didn't post about it yet, what's up?" #;-}>
