We all love the lists. Keep up the great work.
BTW, how long does it take to update a list?
Thanks man; will do!
Hmm, let's analyze: scanning profiles and scraping stats (just update list and let it run) takes around 2 hours with 3000 users. After that's done I open up the main excel file and spend maybe... half an hour importing/sorting those stats, resetting/updating increases/totals, looking for new users, and finally, generating the code for the update. Then: fix up the new HTML file (unless I'm in a mood for a lengthy description this probably takes about 5-10 minutes), fix the update/top gainers thing for this topic (another 5-10 minutes) aaaand upload/post! So, all in all it's at least 1 hour of solid work, and another 2 by the computer.
Adding small style changes or messing up some part of the process in the middle of the update and having to go back and start over can add a bit to this time too... which does happen occasionally. That or the scanner crashes and needs to start over. Some updates are incredibly smooth and some take waaay too long, but it's definitely a quicker process now than when I started. Maybe in a few years it'll be just like routine.
