I might be able to go... I'm actually taking my Subaru cross-country in the summer and dipping into the Ottawa area; if I'm near Montreal I'll definitely stop by if the drinking age is still 18 (I heard it changed to 19).

Interested? Probably not. It's okay, I wouldn't be either. Just PM me

Bump. Exactly one month now!
I do think Dez will be in town (I mentionned the event to her last time I saw her), but I'm afraid Michelle is still frolicking in the australian outbacks... :(

Since the meet is so close, I think it's time to suggest some activities. I think we should go to La Ronde (our Six Flags park) on Friday and maybe go to La Banquise on Saturday before or after Beerfest, La Banquise being the best poutine place in town (now that Frite Dorée has been closed temporarily :( ) and also one with the most selection of different types of poutine.

Also, if Sunday is sunny, we should definitely go to the tam-tams on Mont-Royal (I'm moving right next to it in a week, so we could also stop by my place afterwards and chill if we're a smaller group).

Eh, I can't go. Traveling by myself from Toronto to Montreal and hanging out with a bunch of online strangers is not OK in my parents' book. I don't blame them, though.

I will be tempted. Honestly, I like gravy and fries, so I'm not really passing out on much, I just can't have the cheese.

Twenty one going on twenty two. I had a chat with them, and they don't want me to go, especially my mom. It's not the partying and drinking. It's the fact that I'm not bringing anyone as a "safety net".

Wow. You're old enough to drink, yet your mom is still TAHT over-protective of you!? Sheesh. I can understand if you were mayve.. under 18. BUT YOU'RE 22 SOON. So either be a man and sneak out, or be a momma's boy.

btw no I am not going.

Sneak out from Toronto to Montreal? I don't think so. I consider my mom to be a paranoid person. She can't sleep if the doors are locked, even though we life in a neighbourhood where crime rate is very low, according to Toronto Life. Since I don't personally know anyone going there, and it's an online gathering, she doesn't like that. "What if there's a bad apple in the group?" Plus, I'm a shy person, so both my parents think this won't do me any good. However, nobody personally knows one another at these NG gatherings, do they? They still have fun and nobody gets hurt or anything, right? Anyway, I'm not going against my parents' wish.

Well, none of us really knew each other the first time. I knew less then everyone else since I don't post that much on the forums, but we all hit it off real good and I hand out with them a lot now. (the ones FROM Montreal.)

Well, sleeping with the doors locked doesn't make her paranoid. She's just liek my mom. My mom's always sayin' "We don't wanna get stolen", yet we live in a quiet neighborhood, branching off of a side street, which branches off a main road. THERE'S 3 FUCKING STREETS BEFORE OURS. I don't think a robber/murderer would choose ours.

Since I don't personally know anyone going there, and it's an online gathering, she doesn't like that. "What if there's a bad apple in the group?" To me, online gatherings sound fun, but I KNOW my parents would never approve of it. They don't even want me on Newgrounds for half the day! D:< Nobody SHOULD know eachother, and it's a great chance to meet people. And I think you'd have to be clumsy to get hurt. And parents suck when your over 11.

Well, i think people need to use common sense. I think we've been sorta lucky in these things in not getting any creepy, or wacko kids/people (even sirtom i am still quite fond of, aside of his antics a year later with the petrol shit).
But people come from different backgrounds, some people are more sheltered than others, that goes for any age really.. so my general rule of thumb is that if you have any doubt, just dont go. Not only will you have a shit time being paranoid, but your parents / girlfriend whomever will ruin everyone elses time trying to find you. So I dont like pressuring people to show up or having other people pressure someone to show up. Everyone has their own reasons and let em be.

Just wait till your old enough, or when theres one in your town.

Well, there was Dean, but he's not wacko or dangerous. He was pretty nice and mostly harmless, but he did get a bit creepy at times and can't hold his alcohol for shit! :P
