Alien and The Thing are the only good horror movies that have ever been made.

This man speaks the truth.
Anything by John Carpenter shits all over the entire SAW franchise...and then mutates and spews forth realistic effect intestines.
-The Shinning
-Silence of the Lambs
-Saw
-Grindhouse
-Dawn of The Dead (could be the original or the remake, both are awesome)
Watch "Chef Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares" and TRY to tell me you weren't scared by those restaurants.

Jason Statham and Ice cube yelling hillarious dialogue whilst shooting hillariously made up monsters?
Hell, I call that a cheesy B movie night in.
Depends on what kind of horror your aiming on.
If you're aiming for a scare your best bet would be Ju-on (The Grudge, but the original)
By far the creepiest movie ever.

Total pwnage right here.
Too bad that those aren´t horror films.
I heard "The Descent" was one of the scariest movies my sister and her boyfriend saw and my sister's boyfriend is a huge horror movie fan and has seen a lot and actually got scared from this movie and that's only happened once: from "The Descent".
"Invasion of the Body Snatchers"
"Texas Cainsaw Massacre" (the original)
"The Hills Have Eyes" (the original)
"Halloween" (both the original John Carpenter version and the newer Rob Zombie version)
"Cannibal Holocaust" (uncut version)
"Audition" (uncut version)
"Friday the 13th" (the original)
"Nightmare on Elm Street" (the original)
all good watches for Halloween

Are you shitting me? That movie is damn boring, some torture scenes at the end don´t make it a horror film.
Audition
Ju On
Blue Velvet (because of frank)
Nightmare on Elm Street

Your ADHD issues are shining brightly. Audition and many other good movies have whats known as "Build up" and "Rising Tension". Stick to your instant gore zombie movies and friday the 13th.

Fuck the build up. A horror movie is supposed to be scary from the start to the end, Audition is just boring bullshit until the end of the film where there is some torture. Not worth watching.

Polanski. Apparently Newgrounds doesn't like Polish letters.

Of course you want scares, but cheap JUMP OUT FROM BEHIND THAT DOOR bullshit is not worth watching and not a geniuine scare.

Rosemary´s baby sucks too. Its just a pregnant woman who moves to a new house with her husband, the movie isn´t even trying to be scary at any point. I don´t understand how someone can consider this a horror film.

If that's the one about being trapped in the cave then it's not scary. It makes you closterphobic and you practically need to see the movie with a light on (not because it's scary, it's hard to see), and by standing up because it's so uncomfortable. The only part that scared me was when that little scene of a candle and suddenly head turns around.
Having a father who bought two VCR's when they first came out just to rent and then record horror movies, I'd recommend these...
1. Exorcist (somewhat overrated but it's good)
2. Race With The Devil (it's one of those movies that are scary because everyone is in on the trick, except you)
3. Evil Dead
4. Alice Sweet Alice (it's ok. More of a murder mystery than horror)
5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Have you even seen the movie? The woman gets raped by Satan in her sleep. She's not already pregnant.
I'd highly recommend this Halloween (the week and week after), you turn on the Bravo! channel. They have this 100 Scariest Movie Moments special. It's a real cool thing to watch. I recorded it two years ago and probably watched it seven times.

it wasnt the torture scenes as much as it was that one scene where she throws up into the dig dish and the guy shes holding captive eats it, which wasnt really "scary" as much as it was gross
one more pick
"Evil Dead"

Whatever, that doesn´t make it any scarier.
I suggest you just watch the first Nightmare on elm street, and maybe the third one, and then the rest if you want some laughs.

Not because it's scary, but because it has a great plot.
Yeah I saw that in the theaters. It was very good, just not scary.

Halloween series, my favs are 1, 2, and 3, even though most people hate 3 because its so different from the others, I can just remember me and my friend skipped school on halloween and watched Halloween 3 and at Capn Crunch. so good memories. But yeah, those all kick ass.
