And normally, I would agree with this, as rape dehumanizes the attacker as well as the victim. But night before last, I watched a documentary about prison that sort of made me wonder about my ideas about rape.
A prisoner was talking about the horrible and degrading sexual assault he performed on a rapist/child murdered. He told his inmate victim "You like to treat females and kids that way? Let's make you feel just like they did!" A guard stopped him short of killing him; but let's just say that the inmate will likely need a colostomy bag. And you know what? I was glad. When I heard of the horrible things that this guy had done, including "blowing off a nine year old's head and laughing about it", I wished I had watched what this guy did to him. And I caught myself and wondered "Are there really people that deserve this kind of treatment; or am I just sick of the justice system?" It made me think.
