I've been trying to improve my animation skills lately, so I decided to try to animate a kickflip. Comments? Suggests? Hit me with your best shot, Newgrounds.

I'm gonna take a few creative liberties with the script to "Americanize" it a bit, then I'll record it and get it back to you. Expect it sometime today; not sure what time it is for you, but it's about 7am in my timezone.

Too much acceleration on the kickflip. Think of the move. It's really just a glorified ollie really, a quick pop up and then land, the board turns in mid-air. So it shouldn't disrupt the momentum on the board. Plus, the speed is a little regular, and if you really wanna be anal about it, have the board wobble a bit, to make it seem more like a manual.

Best of luck.

Watch this and/or this a few times. They have good movement and physics..

Or you could join the SFC (Skate Flash Club).
You can find it in the club section of newgrounds, it somewhere there, I am positive it's in my signiture too. :D

Guess I should have mentioned that. Yeah, I found and edited a sprite on Google. It was like 7am and I'd been up all night; sue me. I was practicing the animation, not the art.

In my experience, art is a huge part of animation. If you practice art, you'll be getting better in both art and animation, and you'll build a foundation for your animation skills. If you practice and focus only on animation, then you're only improving slightly.
