Actually,I'm christian. And the reason why I believe in God is because the universe couldn't create itself by logic. And as for who created God,I think God had no creator,he existed before the beginning of time, and our finite human minds just can't comprehend all the facts about God,like where he came from. That's what I believe.

I understand where you're coming from.I think if he did make his presense known to everyone, then it really wouldn't be called "faith".It'd be easy to believe in God then considering you've seen him in that scenario. But I think he wants people to truly have a strong faith in him, without having to see him.And if you disagree with me on that, that's ok,you're entitled to your opinion. And as for the rest of you guys, please start acting mature and have intelligent discussions that involve debating the existence of God.By saying "you should burn in hell!",you make the rest of us christians look bad.Try to argue decently with the atheists and agnostics on this topic.I hope you take my suggestion seriously guys.

I don't believe in a divine creator per se, but I do struggle to comprehend the idea that the Universe Or multiverses) was created from absolutely nothing whatsoever. What I do know for sure is that God isn't an all-loving and all-knowing old man in the sky.

Groan!!! Not this again. Your opinion is born of incredible ignorance. There is no way to disprove God with science. If there is a God, he is above natural laws, making your entire argument moot.

It's FUN to use your brain!!!

religion, serves as a means for creating causality in place of correlation during a time when things feel overwhelming or out of control. it allows to regain some sort of feeling of control in the things around you

Oh lookit. Yet another person who goes for shock value on atheism. Really, aside from it being like a "big waste of time", have you ever read the bible? About the morals that they try to dictate, about the FACT that if you do well, then you get rewarded? All the Religions did was push it and make up a consequence for not living according to code. Basically, take away the morals, not the fear.

Its saddens me people take such radical points of view. One thing I want you to remember is that several of Darwin's theories not just were plausible, but were very true. And the other, Darwin was a Christian man who thought that God USED evolution to create the species of the world.

I'm a christian, and I admit that a lot of religeon is taken on faith. There are, however, some things you can't disprove. First, there are so many prophecies that have come true, its overwhelming.
Second, the Bible means the EXACT same thing in EVERY language it has been translated into as-of-yet.

Third (enough defence, time for offence!), science is not infallable. First, lets look at evolution. If scientists speculate that every living species evolved from some "mother" species so to speak, then why is there no evolution going on now? Why has there never been any recorded event of evolution throughout recorded history? Granted, adaptation happens frequently, but its an entirely different thing. Adaptation is where a species gains traits through selective evolution. It works the same way as eye color. A brown lizard survives more often in the desert. Every year more green lizards die and more brown lizards live. Eventually all the green lizards die out and only brown lizards are alive. Survival of the fittest.

Fourth, we look at the Big Bang theory. Realize that if all the matter in the universe were to be compressed into an infinitesimal space, at least one of several things would happen.
Atoms split with the force they are combined with. BOOM!!! Every molecule in the universe devistated.
Atoms are all incinerated with the friction the create. WHOOSH!!! Every molecule in the universe burned.
Naturally radioactive elements cause all the other elements to decay. Every molecule in the universe a broken shell of protons.
The molecules freeze together due to lack of availability of heat. All the matter in the universe would be frozen solid in one achemical combination. Creating a new universe out of one molecule? Impossible.

Fifth, we take a BIT of faith from both sides. Forgetting that I beleive firmly God exists and created the universe, and you beleive he dose not, which seems more likely able to have existed for ever without anyone creating it? Matter that spontaneously turned into a 3 dimensionaly sound universe, or an omnipotent, omnipresent, omnicient being. Which would be more likely to have existend infinitely in both directions on the timeline?

Sixth (dang it, now i have to defend that last comment!), this is just my personal theory as to how God (or everything if you still don't beleive me) could have existed infinitely, every thing that has "ever" happened actually happened at the same "time", and our concept of "time" is just the order we are remembering all of those events in.

RIGHT! i mean what the fuck is up with all these religion bashers? I mean its not like we're out doing anything wrong, most religious people try to live good fruitful lives and some people just get a bitch boner about it.

Umm, no. If you have any extremely religious person in the Christian faith, almost any at least, they will totally push their religion onto everyone around them. It's just their nature because they're so caught up in it being true and if they see anyone 'opposing' morals or going against the Holy Bible(which I'm beginning to think is outdated and written for the very simple mind centuries ago) they totally turn into hypocrites and will do whatever they can to go against eliminate this 'threat'.

Same can go for extreme atheists. They're equally as retarded.

Whether God exists or not, we won't know until either A) Our death or B) The freakin' apocalypse. Science can't disprove faith, and faith can't disprove science. It's completely pointless and stupid to blab on about if there is a God. Believe in what you believe in, and respect others beliefs.

I'm agnostic/atheist. Sometimes, I feel there's a greater power, and sometimes I don't. Like when 9/11 rolled around. religions usually preach shit like "If you are good then you will be protected from evil doing or harm"...yeah well where was god on 9/11?

Not to me. I believe in God, And his son who died on the cross for me. NO ONE WILL CHANGE THAT, or can, and i think it benefits me. I think that we'll all find out soon enough, and i'm going to heaven. No, i'm not just "basically a good person" I have faith in Jesus, so i'm gonna be with him.

science seems a hell of a lot convincing to me. hard proof.

Really? they just say things that make it seem like it supports evolution and crap. It's like the half-full glass thing, people see it in different ways.

why when i say who created god, religious people get mad? and say READ the Bible, again useless to me. tell me why?

I'm not mad. I'm pretty sure a lot of ''religious people'' wouldn't get mad either. Don't generalize.

and say READ the Bible, again useless to me. tell me why?

Why is it useless? Let's see... how could an ignorant who's asking people about their ''horny thoughts'' in his profile get anything out of the bible, specially if said person is just trying to be a smartass? I personally wouldn't waste my time and effort.

Sorry for double post, but not all people who believe in God are nuts like "religous people". You know what i mean. I think that before judging something and saying its a waste of time, you should at least understand what it is. Its not really the fact that "youre going to hell and you're gonna burn if you don't chant with us" , it's that Jesus loves you and wants you to be with him. It's really that God gave you a choice instead of "making himself known" because if he did, we would all kind of be forced to believe. Really, it's your choice, but i love being a christian. I can't even explain it without having a book on it. Dude, just get a Bible and read a chapter a day.

Also, i don't think that the people who force their religion on to people around them are really Christians. If you really believe in God, then you strive to be like him, Which means being a servant and loving every one around you. Making people think you belong at a fruit farm isn't being godly. It's being annoying and repelling people from faith for fear they may become another religious nut.

Catholics are Christians.

I refuse to even listen to your points if you didn't know that.

Also, how can you have "faith" in something that you can't see or validate?

It's the same as having "faith" that you'll win the lottery one day and the high jackpot will solve all your problems. Just wanting it to happen, isn't gonna make something happen.
