Its saddens me people take such radical points of view. One thing I want you to remember is that several of Darwin's theories not just were plausible, but were very true. And the other, Darwin was a Christian man who thought that God USED evolution to create the species of the world.
I'm a christian, and I admit that a lot of religeon is taken on faith. There are, however, some things you can't disprove. First, there are so many prophecies that have come true, its overwhelming.
Second, the Bible means the EXACT same thing in EVERY language it has been translated into as-of-yet.
Third (enough defence, time for offence!), science is not infallable. First, lets look at evolution. If scientists speculate that every living species evolved from some "mother" species so to speak, then why is there no evolution going on now? Why has there never been any recorded event of evolution throughout recorded history? Granted, adaptation happens frequently, but its an entirely different thing. Adaptation is where a species gains traits through selective evolution. It works the same way as eye color. A brown lizard survives more often in the desert. Every year more green lizards die and more brown lizards live. Eventually all the green lizards die out and only brown lizards are alive. Survival of the fittest.
Fourth, we look at the Big Bang theory. Realize that if all the matter in the universe were to be compressed into an infinitesimal space, at least one of several things would happen.
Atoms split with the force they are combined with. BOOM!!! Every molecule in the universe devistated.
Atoms are all incinerated with the friction the create. WHOOSH!!! Every molecule in the universe burned.
Naturally radioactive elements cause all the other elements to decay. Every molecule in the universe a broken shell of protons.
The molecules freeze together due to lack of availability of heat. All the matter in the universe would be frozen solid in one achemical combination. Creating a new universe out of one molecule? Impossible.
Fifth, we take a BIT of faith from both sides. Forgetting that I beleive firmly God exists and created the universe, and you beleive he dose not, which seems more likely able to have existed for ever without anyone creating it? Matter that spontaneously turned into a 3 dimensionaly sound universe, or an omnipotent, omnipresent, omnicient being. Which would be more likely to have existend infinitely in both directions on the timeline?
Sixth (dang it, now i have to defend that last comment!), this is just my personal theory as to how God (or everything if you still don't beleive me) could have existed infinitely, every thing that has "ever" happened actually happened at the same "time", and our concept of "time" is just the order we are remembering all of those events in.
