After seeing a whole bunch of people taking part in last week's challenge, I'm ready to start this up as a weekly challenge!
This week's challenge is "Psychadelic" (don't shoot me if I spelled that wrong)
Make your song something out there, trippy, mind-wandering, or whatever other adjectives you can throw in there.
This can be done in ANY genre, and no limits on what you do in the end.
This ends this Sunday, October 11th, get your submissions in Saturday night at the latest!

thanks, that helps a bit, less time spent listing names and artists names after the links since it'll come with it, and more time to be able to leave a little critique on the content that gets into the challenge :)

Hey again. I'd like to become a regular contributor to these "contests" or whatever they are, so... I'm working on something. I don't really know how to define psychadelic or whatever so I've just listened to some Van Der Graaf Generator and maybe I'll come up with something cool. ;)

It's a weekly challenge, if we got all week there's no need to rush, right? It's only Tuesday.
But on the subject of help, could you or anyone recommend any music to listen to in the way of psychedelic? (on Newgrounds or not)

examples would be great... and i haven't been working on the weekly challenge because of the MAC, but if I make the time I'll of course enter.
psychedelic is the music influenced by the increased perception of psychedelic drugs such as lsd
cannabis is mild, i like how you people persist with thinking its has a different difention
Most of the psychadelic music I hear is down the lines of Goa Psy Trance and some of The Chemical Brothers's breakbeats ("The Test", "Song to the Sirens" for example)
A big thing in those is usage of echoes and delays, along with arps, to build up an atmosphere of sorts, making any changes in key or tone feel more fluid and gradual in a sense.
Hard to think up many songs like this on the portal, but one to check out that is somewhat trippy is dj-padman1's "Concussion"

Well... It sounds nothing like "Concussion" or whatever, it's not trance or techno or anything really. But here is my submission, and I guess it's a different take on psychedelic, but then I guess that "genre" is not lucidly defined. It's basically a stream of consciousness song based around a concept. So... I submit "Empty Sky."

Very Goa without the trance, definately one take on psychadelic!
I still need to finish up mine, been busy this week ^^;
