Bad structured project is bad structured. Also Nice new skin is new (forgot where I got it though, just found it after googling hard since I didn't find one I wanted on flskins.com)
I kinda stopped naming my patterns properly after a while, since I cloned and altered a lot.
And now I even have a couple of nameless patterns -_-
I guess I'll just go and organize it one fo these days...

I call this: "Listening to the song I'm currently in FL with, trying to rebuild it and make a continuation".

Does look that way... but anytime I compare the volume (not changing the pc volume any) vs. a professional production, it's wayy too quiet if it's not peaking on the internal monitor. Plus, even though it shows that it's peaking on the monitor.. it doesn't sound that way. So.. while FL tells me it's peaking.. my ears tell me it isn't.
Think it might be a problem with the internal monitor?

It's a problem with your mix. Your EQing is boosting unwanted frequencies and therefore you crank your monitor till the "right" frequencies are loud enough for you, causing clipping. Compression, EQ, and other tricks are great ways to get a good, clean sound from a low volume. If you check out the VU meters of popular songs, you'll see that they're really quiet in the mix, and only get louder when the DJ turns them up to club volume or the radio station runs them through their compressors.

I see.. I guess I should spend more time identifying what frequencies are coming through too strong and taking care of those. Anywho, I'm well away from the final mixing stage on this song.. so I don't need to worry about it quite yet. Regardless.. I should probably look more into that for all the stuff I'm working on now and in the future I'd imagine as well.
Where about dB-wise should most mixes sit around? I honestly have no clue. I just know that going over 0 isn't good. =P (although I seem to do that a good bit anyway)

What I do is keep the internal mixing down to a low volume, and I turn up my speakers to compensate. When I get a good sound, I turn up the internal mix through compression/expansion and turn my speakers back down to a normal volume.

Still working on the saaaaaame song... (this is the same one that I posted near the top of this page) It's coming together though, I have to work on the climax and then it should all fall into place.
i started labeling, grouping, and color coding my tracks, it's so much easier this way.
