Kimbo Slice Defeated!

Last night cage fighter Kimbo Slice had a random selected opponent. He was fighting the main event in his hometown. Kimbo had around 30 pounds heavier and two inches taller than his opponent. Kimbo was all muscle while his opponent seemed to be just a skinny and tall young kid.

I was watching it with my dad and we kind of felt bad for the kid since he looked petrified of Kimbo. My dad and I kept saying how Kimbo is going to crush the kid like a bug and everything. Suddenly the match started and boy were we wrong.

Kimbo didn't trip. It was luck, but not by a trip. He got kicked, causing him to stagger but then got jabbed right in the face.

I can't wait for him to fight Shamrock. Even though I like them both as athletes, I want to see Ken Shamrock show him how they did it back in the day.

I believe he used to pay people to fight him in his backyard. He used to take on two or three guys at once. He even posted some videos on youtube.

That sucks. He didn't get "Knocked Out" like the video says he did. Sure he took a beating, but if you're ever seen his videos you'll know he's used to being hit and he can handle it extremely well.

It's an MMA rule to have the referee stop the fight if a fighter looks in trouble, and while it didn't look great for Kimbo I'm 100% sure he could have continued fighting after that little exchange.

See the look on his face after he stood up? He wasn't knocked out, and he still had all the fight left in him. That was bullshit, and not a loss in my opinion.

I say it was rigged. They do this in boxing, so you know they do it in MMA. They allow the underdog to win so that people who put money on it could cash in on what were probably like 40 to 1 odds, and so that it generates hype and buzz.

Beyond that, the fight just looks staged. When Kimbo fell it looked really fake, but then when Petruzelli starts punching, it looks like he's love tapping him. It may hurt Kimbo's pride, but come on... imagine the money he could make from willfully losing.

Like he'd stuck his head into a tub of ice for an hour. He was SO fucking swollen.

At the end of the fight, him and Ganon looked pitiful. They couldn't even raise their fucking arms. They'd just pounded the shit out of each other for so long, they could barely stand.

Here? He's got a bit of a swollen left eyebrow, and a little gash on his eyelid.

He can withstand a shitload more punishment than that.

Either the fight was staged, or the ref was an incompetent idiot.

I've been sorta thinking the same thing too. Mainly because the punches didn't look nearly hard enough to make Kimbo bleed like that. But who knows, since the camera was like a million feet away.

I can't imagine having your main guy take a fall does much good when you're trying to build your company around him and the fight he will eventually have with Ken Shamrock.
So I'd be pissed off if I owned the compnay and he did take a fall.

I don't know. You make some valid points but I mean Kimbo really isn't THAT big of a star. He's only fought like four matches not counting this one. I mean I could see where you get that idea but I just don't think it's what really happened.

That's no knock out, that's a down. Why the fuck was there only one round? That's a huge letdown of a match. If a fight only lasts 10 seconds like that one, it had better be because of a full-blown knock out and not some shitty rule.

A lot of people knew about Kimbo from all the youtube vids of his backyard fighting (or at least that was my case because my friends were all familiar with him). I was surprised when I found out he was going to be in that MMA shit.

I want to see the kid touch gloves with kimbo, and do it again. Some of those shots weren't clean, and the judge was way too sensitive. Either set up so EliteXC can get some more popularity (Which HAS happened before) or the ref rushed to the conclusion that kimbo couldn't fight because a cut above his eye. Give him 5 minutes, get back in the cage, petrezulli or whatever would've been a puddle of goop on the ground. Kimbo isn't skilled, but he's certainly enough to take this chump out. His blows weren't even well executed, he paniced, and god was he lucky that kimbo's legs were knocked out straight. If you think this is a 100% legitimate TKO, you're mistaken.

Seeing Kimbo lose is a shock but it looked like a legitimate lose to me at least. He's never fought anyone remotely skilled anyway - Just a bunch of obese black dudes.
