I have my SAT's scheduled for Tommorow at 7:45 AM and I haven't studied at all.

How about you guys that are outta highschool or already taken the SAT's, did you guy's study for it or not. I'd like to know what you all got for scores.

A bunch of people where i live don't study the SAT's and they almost alwasy get 1800-2200 scores so i don't really see the point in studying for it, it's not like I actually know what is gonna be on it.

ISO your opinions/scores/experiences.

You can't really study for SATs since you don't know what is on the test.

I took the SAT in 8th grade. I didn't study. I got a 2180.

(That was my second time taking the test, though. I actually studied the first time.)

Yeah, you can. You may not know the exact questions, but you can get a general idea of what will be covered on the test.

Meh, I've only taken the PSATS and I never studied, I do know they are in fact easier and I did decently (forgot my exact score).

however one of my friends is taking it tomorrow as well and has been studying all week, not sure how he will do though.

I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they would greet me with cries of hate.

Yea my mom was trying to get me into one of those but i really see no point. I already know math and reading and writing skills, shouldn't anything much different. And also those things cost a ton of money which i don't even have.

A few quadratics here, some probabilities and binomials there is w/e.

I'm planning on getting a 1700-2000 ish score.

Gonna take it tomorrow too. It's going to be my second time so I can get "super scoring" (where you can use the highest scores in each category).

I've studied a bit for the SAT, but I'm not "naturally" good like a few people in my school are. I have that big prep book that the collegeboard made, and I took some prep classes offered at my school.

However, what I've come to realize is that you don't really need too much prep. Taking a practice test at least once before the test is helpful so you understand the "flow", but other than that, it's not too important IMO. As long as you're decent in Math (and have taken at least Algebra II and Geometry), read a lot/enough to get down the vocabulary, and are a decent writer, you'll be fine. There's nothing too "special" in there you wouldn't learn at school otherwise.

The first time I took it (back in May last year) I got a 2130 (750 Math, 700 Writing, 680 Critical reading). That's decent, but I'd like to get my critical reading up to get my score to 2200+. Hopefully!

Erm...I did extensive tutoring starting a couple months in advance. And I did very well. With the theme song from "Diff'rent Strokes" irritatingly stuck in my head for the entire second half of the test. So there's your answer. Whatever, worst case scenario, you'll be able to take the test again (if you're a junior, which I'm assuming you are).

I considered doing this for my pre-calculus tests, but I'm too lazy to. Wouldn't you need a calculator with a text editor for this?

I would recommend a TI-89.

Damn. I only got a 720 on the math section. (760 CR, 720 Math, 700 Writing) I completely fucked up the essay. I was tired.

I took the practice test in class that was all the studying I did. I think I would have done better if I hadn't had to get up so damn early.

More and more colleges each year are de-attaching themselves from the SAT, and relying on more important aspects of a college app. That's not to say that there aren't schools out there that still only look at your SAT scores, though. My scores were average, but my college accepted me for other (and better, more reliable) reasons.

This is pure, assisted self-destruction
