To be completely honest, I hope they don't change too much more shit at all. I can see the reason why the past changes were made, and they are all totally reasonable, but I see a LOT of just atrocious ideas in the suggestion thread. Newgrounds is different than any other website and people are asking to have certain aspects of the site changed that just wouldn't make it Newgrounds anymore. I'm actually really impressed with whoever manages the actual website because of the criteria they employ for changes and the taste in design that they have. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like the website the way it is and I hope they don't go edit crazy and add a bunch of features that really change the whole classic newgrounds atmosphere we have grown to love. I suppose I could list some examples but anybody who read through that suggestion thread might understand where I'm coming from...I don't want to point fingers...

That being said, I'm 99% sure someone has suggested a 'preview post' feature in the past but I'm curious as to why this would have gotten shot down. Is it too much to ask that we double check our spelling and quote formatting before posting? I mean...you can't edit a post once you've made it. Idk, maybe that's just me...

Plus the problem with users making really short and crappy reviews just to climb the ranks would become even a bigger issue cause now they could make money off of it and would also put a lot more stress on the review mods.

yeah i no about all that but thats why i said only helpful reviews could get revenue

In response to DiMono's suggestion to get rid the Network News forum, Tom has actually stated in this news post that the threads in the forum will eventually be moved to General and the defunct forum will be deleted so it is on their minds.

It was actually Domo that suggested that.

That would mean that there old username would be unavailable, which would really suck in some cases.

The rules for the reviews right now is pretty good but I thought a new rule that could be added is something like " no telling how to get the medals to a game " Cause I see all the time people in the reviews telling users how to get the secret medals and it does help but the author made that medal secret for a reason not so people can tell how to get the secret medals.

Isn't that kind of already the case?

This is only a good idea if you can enable it for each thread you make. If you made a popular club or something, it would probably get really annoying after a while.

Silly Bahamut that was me. I supose that would work better cause if the threads were also deleted some user post count may drop a bit. And its also history.

I didn't see it in the FAQ or anything but sometimes it just spoils some medal ames for me that I do not want to be spoiled.

Had a little idea and was directed to post it here. I'm just going to go ahead and copy what I wrote there:

It would be very nice to be able to edit the layout of the 'my account' page so that I, for instance, can place the audio portal options above the flash portal options, to reflect my preferences towards the AP. Much like you do on the profile page.

This could also work for the submit page where I never submit to the flash portal I could drag this option to the bottom.

Maybe this is not particularly feasible or maybe I'm the only one who would experience the benefits? But it's just an idea I had whilst browsing.

I have a few ideas. I don't know if they are possible:

- Putting a friends/alts list on your user page, or a link to it. I don't have alts, but I have one or two friends and it would be useful to see what they're up to.
-Tags to flash. Sometimes I forgot the name of a flash, but know what's about. Then I can just put in some things the flas is about, and I can find the flash I'm looking for.

Newgrounds already has tags, they're just not being used as much right now. With the redesign they're going to be visible on every flash page.

In the meantime, you can use the RSS feed options if you are trying to keep track of your friends' recent submissions and recent favorites. Just click the orange RSS logo on their submission pods in their profiles.

think it would be a good idea for the art portal:

we could put multiple images at once as a kind of album

This would facilitate to insert them comic and sketchbook in the portal, and be read page by page is frustrating and takes a large space which prevents many art pieces are moved on the cover and not everyone has the decency to start giving pages back.

And that we might put sale our comic (obviously this would have to go through an approval process to prevent any bullshit you can sell what they would eliminate the quality of the system)

And I know because there is no database for reviews the portal in question there are times that I would like to see comments already made and I can not because I returned to the reviews page.

also in the audio portal :

could be improved as the player to change the composition is to reload the page and reload it would be better to shorten the player this time.

Also the main search page (the one is at home) should not be just for flash should be a universal form of all portals.

And finally I wonder if it is true that planning a portal for literature?

i suggest putting an individual warning page before accessing any flash or art rated mature or adult

... i don't want the UAE internet server to block newgrounds because there is porn, instead, they can block the warning page before watching any adult contents in submissions

Cloudeater kindly pointed out that this was the proper place to post this so I will repost it here.

Okay first of all I know there are other kinks that need fixing - but this is at the top of my list of priorities.

Here is my problem: I have a few artworks frontpaged recently (yay) and I noticed that a lot of trafic was directed on to some of my oldes drawings, but not my new ones. The reason was pretty obvious. The thumbnails presented in the left side of the screen when people are looking at my pictures are only some of the first pictures I have uploaded. Strange thing is that it's always the same 5 pictures, but not the first 5 pictures I have uploaded. Seemingly just a random pick from the first 10 or so pictures uploaded.

This bothers me since I, for obvious reasons, would like people to see my most recent stuff first. I don't mind people seeing my earlier (and more mediocre) stuff. But not unless they themselves are willing to go look for it.

I think this really needs to be working in a different way.

I was think that it would be nice to choose a song to play automatically when someone visits your userpage; much like it does when you visit the AP home page.

That way audio artists can have their latest or best piece of music showcased on the main section of their userpage and everyone else can help raise awareness for their favourite audio artists.

Just so you guys who are posting new suggestions know, this is a discussion thread for the currently locked Evolution MK3 thread. I'm sure liljim is reading this thread from time to time, but he may not be taking new suggestions until he gets around to making a 4th generation thread. You are welcome to hash out these suggestions in this thread or by making your own thread and when the MK4 thread rolls around, you can try suggesting an even more thought out idea in there, but like all evolution threads this isn't a list of demands and there's no guarantee that the admins will read your suggestion in this particular thread.

You know when you start a really nice topic.
And you start replying.
And you have arguments.
And you have agreements.
And you have a good time.
UNTIL YOU REPLY FOUR TIMES!!!!
What if there are some "main"users that are replying to eachother.
Maybe a rapid discussion.
Maybe proving something.
This way, this rotten rule practically frezees topics for 30 minutes.
Just enough for the guys that wrote in it to quit.
Can this rule be changed.
Please think over this plea,oh admins of newgrounds (or even Tom Fulp.).

The BBS is not a chat room, it is, well, a forum/message board. To avoid flooding or people posting just to get a higher post count we have a pretty reasonable 4 posts per 30 minutes. It's there so you can put some thought into your replies. Unlike chat rooms, you can pick up right where you left off on a forum and you are welcome to when the 30 minutes has passed.

If you run into this problem a lot, you may wish to participate in the Paltalk or Stickam chat rooms where a number of regulars frequent.

Consequently, what I like to do when posting in any thread where I plan on replying to multiple posts or even when I am replying to one of my own threads is that I allow some time to pass and let a number of people post before I start replying. I then click "reply with quote" for a couple of replies in new tabs, write out my reply for each post I wish to reply to, copy and paste my replies from all the other posts into one new reply. That way I can take care of multiple replies at a time so there isn't a confusing mess of cross conversations when reading the thread.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned before in this thread.
Let's face it, the current system that tells you (only if you check) that you have gotten reviews in the past two days, whether or not they have actually been read, is crap.
I'm guessing most people actually care about the feedback they get, so here is something a friend of mine proposed. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Great idea!

I thought it would be better if you can't review your own flash. Example.

Also, isn't it better if you can sort reviews on how helpful they are?

Your link lead to a reply box... But I do take issue with saying something "belongs" in this thread as the actual NG Evolution thread is currently locked, and the Wi/Ht description still includes "Suggestions" So a user should never be chastised that they didn't see a thread that isn't actually open and has never been for every suggestion ever. New threads with suggestions should always be welcomed in Where is/How to. The Evolution thread should really be reserved for the most fleshed out ideas so there is no harm in a suggestion being discussed in its own thread before considering bringing up such a suggestion in the evolution thread.

Users suggesting notification system for Flash artists they're interested in / a bar of recent submissions by your favorite artists:

Newgrounds Subscriptions
Newgrounds Subscriptions?
Subscriptions?

People have also floated the idea of "subscribing" to topics so you get notified of new responses:

User Cp / Topic Subscriptions?
Subscriptions And Edits

That's a pretty good list of suggestions about subscribing but like I said above, this isn't the Evolution thread. It's actually the "discussion" thread for the evolution thread. liljim closed up the most recent evolution thread a while back - so we may need to wait a little while before a new thread pops up for making suggestions that the admins are guaranteed to read. (not that they won't read this or any other suggestion thread in the meantime)

lol, I don't wanna! :P

...and it's probably way more trouble than it's worth, but... it would be super helpful on dump files if there was some sort of indicator to show if there is a link to that file (on the bbs or where ever) ...so we know not to delete it.

For example... I could delete 'rough.jpg' without worry... but 'newTank.jpg' would create two dead links.

Oh, and thumbnails would be nice too... for at-a-glance perusal!! :D
