NG friends?

I hear a lot of people on NG talking about how they have made some great friends on NG, etc. etc., but I ask you, how does one accumulate NG friends?

Is it merely by you sharing the same views on things, then you PM them?
Do you randomly PM somebody?
Or do just pretend to be somebody's friend, but in fact, you've never even talked to them?

And no, this is not a plea for friends. I am merely interested to how NG accumulates e-friends..

With me it's people who I've worked with on flashes or people in the same groups as me. For example people from a collab I've taken part in or, say the Flash 'reg' lounge. People who offer me help, people I help. People who seem like good, friendly users. Users who, say, post on another forum I'm part of. An example of that are people from forums like flashbase.

The way I make them is by posting on their profile! they somtimes post it back on mine. I made some really good freinds this way! This usually only works when they're new though

You ask people for their MSNs. Sometimes they just get added but you really don't talk to them, other times you find some good interest and enjoy talking to each other. You talk more and more often and from there you end being "friends"

The people that I have became good friends with are people that I justed added on AIM and started talking to them, but I have also became good friends with some people by joining some clubs in the clubs and crew section. I think that's the best way to do it because your in the same club as the other people because obviously you are interested in some of the same things.

I mostly just ended up adding them to MSN, only one occasion I know of when I became friends with someone through PM's. I remember we'd just be pm'ing each other all day. Then I just made it simpler and got his MSN.

I find that getting to know a person through a program like MSN or AIM is much better than just posting together or using the PM system. You get to know them alot more on a personal scale.
