Wow, best read I've had in a long time. And I mean it.

I can't afford to lose too much sleep during the school year, so if I wanted to really start trying this out, I'd probably have to do it over the summer. But don't get me wrong, I'm definitely going to try this sometime. You make it sound incredible.

But what if I have some called, um, a life? I can't be staying up for days on end when I have to go to school and work. I think I'll pass.

I don't know if that's been posted yet, but I remember it being on the front page of youtube awhile ago. Of course it's kiddy shit compared to your in-depth analysis, but whatever.

But yeah, lucid dreaming is something i've never quite gotten.....

Very very very interesting. I never have dreams I don't think. So i'm totally bookmarking this thread, for a future reference. Thank-you so much!

My favorite singer/actor is Miley Cyrus. What are you going to do about it?

I get night terrors when I have the flu! It's a type of lucid dream, only terrifying. :)

I have only had a few lucid dreams, I was able to fly in a desert while auroras filled the green sky. It was amazing, I could almost feel the wind hit me.

Ive had lucid dreams before. Its wierd for me. Ill just realize im in a dream and be able to control it. Its hard to explain really. Like I can move things around. Or make situations happen, its pretty fucking cool.

I'm not cool enough to have a nice sig.

Well, dreams are actually produced mainly by a substance called or chemical Dextromethorphan tryptamin. Everything has it if it's living. The more you have of it the harder you trip, but the less you remember.

Either I don't dream, or I don't remember my dreams. I wouldn't be willing to destroy my health for the chance to have lucid dreams.

Someone once asked me why I call myself Unimportant. Simple, I said. As a nihilist, that's what I see everyone and everything as. In the end, we are all Unimportant.

Every dream I have ever remembered having , was a lucid dream.

Is there some sort of reason for this happening? And also I will probably try not sleeping for two days straight on a weekend or something and see what happens.

I never remember my dreams, but ones I do remember are completely insane. And I don't mean they are awesome insane, just kind of retarded insane. For instance, Keanan and Kel were thrown into a garbage can and had paper thrown at them. They got bad paper cuts and came out as skeletons. Then Kel proceeded to say "Where's my orange soda?" and jump out. Yeah, it would be funny to remember some dreams of mine. I need some bananas now!

Haha, woah, you put in a lot of time into this guide, read it through, and it really seems to put all the pieces into place. Have read a few guides on how to sleep better, and they do get much more information across, but this fits everything into a much more readable gap. I used to have a routine of taking a one hour walk each morning, felt great, I think I should get back to that, ASAP. I sometimes find that eating before going to sleep makes me wake up unusually refreshed, but sometimes it backfires, so I came to the conclusion that it depends on what you eat as well.

Don't think I'll take any drugs to get the most out of my sleep, but thanks for the advice. Dreams affect your state awake too, good dreams keep you motivated during the day, change your attitude, improves your memory, ets.

I know a little bit about lucid dreaming. Here's a tip: Put Post-It notes around your house/apartment saying "Control your dream," or something similar to that. Draw a line or shape on your hands with a marker as a reminder to make yourself lucid-dream.

Now, eventually all these reminders will establish themselves deep in your memory. Every time you see one of these reminders, make sure to acknowledge them---don't just mindlessly glance at them.

Later, when you have a dream about being in your house and you see the reminders you posted everywhere, or when you look at the markings on your hands (in your dream), you'll realize you're currently in a dream. Once you realize this, you'll gain the power to lucid dream.

This is a good post.

Sensory deprivation is key. Not just sleep deprivation, but food, light, sound, you name it. DEPRIVE YOUR BODY and teh lucid dreams will arrive

Have you ever seen the movie Vanilla Sky?
If you enjoy this theory of lucid dreaming you'll really like this movie
It's rated R kiddies so it's NSFW (It's because you see Tom Cruise's face a whole bunch.)

You do not have to deprive yourself from sleep to Lucid dream.
I've been a Lucid Dreamer for about a year now and have a pretty good grasp at it.
It's also not someting you can achieve in a week.
No offence, but most people here do not know what they are talking about.
Here is the link where from where I learned how to do it from as well as 90% of what
you need to know on the subject.

For those of you interested, that website is great.

I actually just think of whatever i want to dream about, and when i i slowly fall asleep, it slowly turns into a dream.
i am around 95% done with controlling if i have a dream or not
about 60% done controlling what i dream about
around 25% done controlling what happens in my dream
close to 85% done controling how i act during a dream
about 65% done determining if it is a dream or not
close to 90% done remembering the dream(I know this because i have one almoast every night and i remember them)
I did the calculations(I used a caclulator) and determinned that i am 70% done with completly controlling the dreams. not bad!

I have a lucid dream (completely without trying to) about once a fortnight. It's always been like that for me, and I just presumed it was the same for everyone else until a couple of years ago when I started seeing all these webpages and threads online with people who had just 'discovered' the phenomenon known as lucid dreaming.

I'd like to point out that if you are actively trying to lucid dream, the chance of your lucid dream actually lasting and being enjoyable is greatly lowered. When you're lucid dreaming, you are aware that you are in a dream but if you try too hard to make it exciting you will wake up involuntarily.

You trollin', boy?

I've had lucid dreams countless times. I don't sells books or any of that nonsense. It's just something that is possible and is easier for some than others.
