Sublime is always good for relaxing in the middle of the day. As the night drags on I switch to reggae or dubstep. Right now I'm actually listening to some ambient house music, and it's pretty damn relaxing too.

When I'm trying to wake up in the mornings I listen to DnB, as it's intense enough to wake me up, but relaxing enough not to make me angry for the whole day.

I don't really listen to music that doesn't relax me. Hardstyle is the exception, and I only listen to that at work.

There's a lot of bands I can relax to. 311, The Police, Sublime, Incubus. A lot of their music tends to relax me. Now if I want to get amped up, I go with something like In Flames, Mindless Self Indulgence, Lamb of God, or System of a Down.

Yeah, my dad and my brother both work that way, and in some cases I can work that way. When either of them want to relax they both prefer slayer or what have you to chill out. That kind of music just pumps me up before a game, though.

The Beatles is alright to chill too. Buckethead's more acoustic, creepy, but relaxing stuff like Colma and Electric Tears is really great to listen to when I want to unwind. Death Cube K is even weirder, but more avant-garde and ambient, so it's even better to listen to. Downbeat Jimi Hendrix (The Wind Cries Mary, Castles Made of Sand) is cool. Opeth's lighter stuff and instrumentals is good as well. I also like Steve Miller Band, some Muse songs, and some Pink Floyd stuff (The Wall).

How the fuck does Dream Theater relax you?

This isn't bands you like, it's bands that RELAX you and last time I heard Dream Theater pumps you up to the fucking max. But RUSH I agree with.

Usually soundtracks, Skies of Arcadia is great for this as it has some very calming music however it also has some that really stands out.

The most relaxing music I have is more likely my .hack soundtracks, I love them all.

because there the only band I listen to. if I want to relax I'll listen to some of there slow songs, or a ballad or whatever. when I want to get pumped I listen to the energetic stuff.
