this makes no sense. but somebody tells me how this work. because theres a song that was actually just dropped yesterday. but anyway let me know how this works
Their songs were probably sitting closer to 4.5 or so.. at least higher than yours.. whenever the top 5 were selected.
It's purely picked by songs submitted within the past week with the highest scores.
I have to agree. I feel that the people who got top 5 did great, but sure as hell didn't deserve it like KillBillVolume2 and Mseemercury did. They spent hours on hours working on that song, and whored the shit out of it. Over 500 listens, 27 reviews, 100+ votes, and yet nothing. I think they were jipped =\

They posted it on Wednesday. 2 songs that are up there have a lower score than their song. Even a collab with my and WF1 has a higher score, and not even we got it. Even had a score of 4.42 atm.
Sorry for double post.
Agreed, they were straight up robbed of top 5, and this song was also specifically made to get out there and get that top 5 but of all things, they weren't selected because of a lower score? They didn't get a lower score, they were zero bombed like always and on top of that they had way to many votes to actually say it was a lower score, na man. "Get Ya Mind Right" deserved that spot, no lie.
newgrounds audio portal needs a better control over certain things that go on up in this bleep.

The only way to know for sure is to record both scores exactly at 12:00 AM...if the top submission's score is lower than the one you provided, then theres a glitch in the system. Otherwise, programming code isn't biased.

Well, I kept an eye on Telliath's song, and I am proud of him actually making top five. But before the night was over, Wyldfyre1's and my collab actually had more votes, reviews, listens, views, and a higher scores. Hell, it was even ranked # 56 on score rate, while Tell's was on 10k. =\
it's a funky system, I think the big thing the submissions just need are more votes in the end, more votes generally leads to a more accurate representation of where users would place the song.
personally, I havn't gotten on the top 5 for a few months now, only had a small handful reach the top 30, but what it all comes down to in the end to me is how many constructive reviews/criticism I get to work with
Kinda wish they had A-Bot do the best of the day style post on the front page like P-Bot, top 5 and 6-10th place, and also list popular artists who have submitted

Sanity is grossly overrated and detrimental to the creative process.

Im guessing that in order to achieve the top five you first need to acquire a large group of fans Which takes time and putting yourself out there. One time i thought i would get it ferrrsuuuurrreee but never did anyways good luck. Keep trying.

They whored their song like no tomorrow. It was to the point where they got annoying. But they still got lots of reviews/downloads/listens/ect. I was even told by a few people who make Trance/Techno/Dance music that their song is possibly one of the greatest Hip-Hop songs on NG due to it's professionalism.
BAoH!!! yeah, it really messed up that when someone tries so hard to get the song on the top 5 and doesn't make it is just disappointing.
