anyhow, does anyone know any good converters out there that wont murder your video quality after conversion? Im working on a Video project and need to get a short .swf file into Vegas 8.0.

Flash 9 has a great "export as .mov" feature that works perfectly.
Older versions I've always used swf2avi which captured nested movieclip animations and such so it appears exactly as it does when you test your movie in flash.

I dont have the original .fla file, just the swf and swf2avi doesnt work for me, says the swf file is compressed and it cannot read its properties
This is a longshot and probably wont work, but it's possible.
Try making a new flash project and importing the swf file into your project. If it doesn't screw it up (which it most likely will) then export it as an avi or mov file. You'll most likely lose the sound tho on the off chance it does work. That's the best advice I can give.
You could always use a screen recorder, I don't have any suggestions for free ones, but I imagine it would be easy to find one on google, or at least a trial, and with the quality turned up to the highest setting it should look just fine.
mmmkay thanks for the replies guys
well the best result i got so far was recording with screen recorder gold trial version, came out pretty good except for a glow that looks a bit messed up. Guess ill have to work with that for now until i can get the actual project file from the guy who created the flash.
