Having a vote would be nice, but I think the time constraints might make it difficult for each contributing artist to cast their votes in time - and then there's the possibility that people are going to bitch about the outcome (which might happen anyway) saying that it would have been different if allof the votes had actually been counted.

Also, I'd think that allowing everyone who contributes to vote could lead to some abuse (mass voting), depending on how many peoplel actually end up entering and what their alliances might be - not saying it would, but, why take a chance, right?

Anyway, that's just my thoughts on it - nice idea, but, probably more trouble than it's worth.

I think the NG staff/ReNaeNae should probably be the only ones involved in the calendar voting-not just because of time constraints, but I think everyone would probably vote for themselves for the most part anyway, and after the top 3, I don't know how many people will be too involved in thoughtful ranking of the remaining ones (laziness)...

I hate the file size, I wish you guys could of made the requirement to be 16:9, because 4:3 is so damn ugly. I'm about 30% done, and I already spent about 8 hours on it. I don't want to show at it's current stage though.. it's basically a million lines.

Im really glad you responded , and i actually believe you that there is no favoritism. Its just discouriging to see that the same people win every contest there is on NG.
Your idea is nice, but i do think people would vote for themselves, or maybe they wont vote in time and they would bitch about they lost cuz of that..I'd be okay if you were the judge.

A note to all... if yours gets picked and it turns out the final file is unusable, it will get bumped... there just isn't enough time to mess around! So PLEASE make sure your setting are right (size, res, etc.). Thanks!

hey, im doing mine on flash (2880 x 2134), IF i get picked, could i send you the fla so you can take the picture and resize it?

I think I've seen about five so far that I personally would consider good enough for the calendar. So by this thinking were nearly half way there with roughly half the time left :)

Yeah I really liked yours. Seemed somewhat 3D if I remember rightly.
And to ShortMonkey, I really liked yours (I didn't mention it because it wasn't in the thread I was looking through). One criticism would be the left hand looks a little weird. Other than that, it's great.

I have decided not to do what I was planning, the calendar will look better if it is all vector anyway.

Because I don't draw very often i don't really have my own art style or characters(as a result my alien looks very similar to something Dan would have drawn, and pico looks extremely similar to mindchamers original concept, ect.). Is that going to hurt my submission?
