Low Fps

I Have A Vista Laptop With 1.9 GHZ and 2 GB RAM and a Geforce 7000M video card, but when I Play TF2, I have to Set My Graphics Down all the way and use DX 8 just to get more FPS.

Any Idea On how to Get More FPS?

Have you tried benchmarking your pc to compare with others on other boards? I'd recommend it. Find some more info about it on sites like tomshardware.com

Try getting a 2.5 GHtz processor. Maybe get a higher graphics card(8500 or 8800) and a better processor(3.0), or more RAM.

internet connection does not affect FPS.

I reccomend getting a custom made desktop.

My laptop is very similar to yours, except that my video card is of a slighty higher spec. I'd definitely consider upgrading yours if you want to play TF2 though. The only game I have for my laptop is Hitman:Contracts (I'm a PS3 gamer at heart, I only have it so I have something other than my PSP while I'm at uni) and I have to have it on medium settings for it play properly or it'll struggle. Upgrading the RAM and maybe the CPU (if you have the money) wouldn't be a bad idea either.

haha TF2 is awesome...
use a proper computer rather than a laptop dude...it does it on my laptop (low fps) when i try to play guild wars but it works perfectly on my dads computer....

btw i play on xbox not pc lool

Most laptops have a pretty shitty cpu in them to keep heat and power consumption low, because of this, even if your gfx card isnt that bad, the cpu essentially bottle necks the system and is ussually the downfall.

To the topic starter though, it just sounds like you need a better computer.

Try changing some parts of your laptop
My brother has a Vista Laptop to also...maybe you have some bad programs or old parts
My computer needed 10seconds to use alt-tab from a fullscreen game to the desktop...then I bougth a new part and the comp. and then it worked x5 better!
