This kid tried to hang himself...

So there's this kid at my school that tried to hang himself. He wasn't lonely, he had tons of friends, he was a good student, he just made Varsity football as a sophomore; so he decides now's a good time to kill himself. He ties a shitty slipknot and puts himself into a coma. If he lives, he's a vegetable. WTF? He had a good fucking life and he just throws it away. I feel bad for his family and his friends. Somehow, I don't really feel sorry for him though. He fucked himself over for no fucking reason and I'm supposed to cry over it? The other thing that pisses me off about this whole thing is people get FURIOUS over me and a couple of other people not really being sad. Fuck you, why the fuck should I? We don't need to cry over it because we have nothing to regret. His parents raised him the best they could, his friends showed him nothing but love, and no one in the entire school gave him shit. The fact is that one night he just fucking snapped and fucked up everything. It's actually turned into a contest into who can be the saddest. It's fucking ridiculous. These memorial nazies are turning everything into a candlelit vigil and shit. In all his classes their putting memorial shit on his desk and talking about fond memories. HE'S NOT EVEN FUCKING DEAD. My money is on that he's come out of his coma, his injuries will heal, and it'll be fucking awkward to talk to him for the rest of eternity.

Oh wooptidoo you managed to see a few things that he was better than you at school, but really, how do you know what he went through at home? He might have been bullied to fuck by his parents or other people.

Was he taking any kinds of meds this would make sense if he was I doubt he was on singulair if he was playing football. But people with good lives do take medications that cause depression and they try to kill themselves as a result.

It's not really like the life he had contributes to him killing himself. You could be perfect and still hate yourself, its basically just how you function and some people learn to live with it, some people can't. Most likely he was depressed, or was going through mental difficulties that usually occur due to a chemical imbalance in the brain.

It's not really that big of a deal, some people probably really liked him and are sad about it. You giving them shit for it is just salt in the wound for these kids, think of it as if your friend died and someone decided to piss on his grave just because they weren't close to him.

Although it is kind of mean to not give two shits, I know how you feel about the memorial nazis. When some kid at my school ran into the back of a parked truck on his bike and died, everyone was really sad at my school. But the thing was, everyone would always make fun of the kid and everyone hated him.

At his funeral there were tons of people mourning him, and these hella hot chicks saying how he was such a good kid and they were best friends. When in truth they did nothing but make fun of the kid.

I wouldn't judge his whole life on just what he was like at school. Sure, he might have a lot of friends and be super popular and all that great stuff. But unless you know him and his parents personally I wouldn't say he had a great home life. Nobody in their right mind would just try and kill themselves for no good reason, there must have been more to it than that. But it is true what you said about it being a contest to see who can be the saddest. Truth is, most of these kids probably don't even care and are just doing it to seem like they're good people and care about others.

Well I doubt he intentionally put himself into a coma for no reason, perhaps the materialistic items and companionship he possessed where just covers for other problems in his life. Maybe if you knew the kid on a more personal basis you could see for yourself why he could himself as opposed to giving us the point of view of a spectator.
