I just had an idea for the 'Some type of account thingy' box in the lower right hand corner.

What if it showed the current moderators who were online on all the forums? That way, someone who sees spam in a thread can just scroll to the bottom of the page and see which mods are on and that would make it easier to report it.

I know people can click the forums button and scroll down to see all the mods online, but it would be shortcut to that.

Was just thinking it would be nice to have a navigation bar for the blogs where we can choose which ones are up top, they are bolded etc. That way we can have more than one announcement readily visible, and emphasize the which ones we think are important, rather than a chronological structure only. Perhaps even have that navigation bar be customizable for each blog...

Or how about a "report abuse" button that sends a message to a random mod out of all the mods online (or if there are none, the first to log in).

Because if there are none online, it's just a "HEY GUYS, NO MODS!" advertisement.

I think that the blam/save system needs to be reworked a little bit.

Right now it's good, but I think whatever percentage of rank you are in you get theat percentage of voting power.

Say you are a Town Watch and you have a total of 150 b/s points. I think you should have the extra 2.5 voting power, instead of the 2 bonus percentage.

I would also enjoy a Detective rank.

Like, personally I hardly ever watch animation unless it's from someone I know or it's of very good quality, but I do check the front page games often. If I could have the games above animation, that'd be great (I know others would be the other way around, hardly ever playing games, whatever).

I don't think demand for this would be too high though..

Or maybe they should have some kind of tab system, where there's a box full of featured movies and at the top there's a tab for games and maybe music and you can choose which one you'd like to see when you visit the page? :D

I just thought of this as I was browsing the BBS.

It's a rather simple change - please make all links users post on the BBS and their signatures spawn the URL in a new tab or window.

How about when your searching your own posts you can have two different options to choose from. One option would be the regular "Posts", where you could search through all of your past posts and the other option could be "Topics" where you can search all of the topics that you have made yourself. I think this would be useful for those posts that are hard to find due to their poor titles.

Let the an audio or flash play through before you can vote on it

I dislike bringing up downvoting abuse, but I really see why this idea could not (and why it would not) be implemented. It makes perfect sense no? why should someone be allowed to vote on something that they do not watch or listen to? It's the equivalent *as it may be extreme* to a teacher looking at the title of your essay and giving you an "F".

The drawback is of course, a user could upload "spam" that lasts for minutes on end, well, it doesn't have to be the entire submission length, but say, 30 seconds or so. It serves as a solution to decreasing zero bombing, mass voting, in turn making the voting more fair.

Let one listen = entire track length

I can't tell you how many times I've clicked on tracks in the AP, and sift through It for about 5-10 seconds, and then close it; I'm sure I can speak on the behalf of most people in the AP. That's not a listen. I personally would like to know how many people who are actually listening through my work.

Give exp. points for Audio Points

I never understood why we cannot vote on audio and not recieve points, yet the voting power for flash has a bearing on our audio scores.

Give the option to collab with other artists regarding audio

Self explanitory- like in flash; it would be nice to be able to have multiple authors under one audio track.

Give BBS moderators the ability to edit posts (they dont have this ability do they?)

BBS Mods can delete posts, but why not edit them? This option is not as useful regarding social topics, but what about informative/tutorial/sticky related posts? Old Rules and outdated links can be updated on the first post of the page instead of a user having to sift through each post and find more info. A user might post a question that has already been resolved deep within the abyss of a 100 page topic, and instead of a constant stream of continually asked questions, the answer is conviently located on the first pages.

Again, excuse me if the moderators already have this feature.

Review Rule Change Request

There's a rule that prohibits us from pointing out stolen content. I feel we should be able to point out stolen content if we give clear evidence. It's unequivocal how an abusive review can get deleted so fast, yet stolen submissions take so long to delete- especially when these types of reviews can't really produce any issues, yet stolen copyrighted material can. For example, www.l33tsp34k.newgrounds.com. "Her" music is stolen from Immediate Music (if you need more info- ask me oustide this topic, or view Suspended-3rd-Chord's review), many of her submissions have been deleted (by herself, after she got pointed out) but two remain, that got used in popular flash submissions. One by a game made by jmtb02 or whatever, which I believe is also sponsored by Armor games. So a commercial game using copyrighted music without a license, all because listeners couldnt be aware of extremely probable stolen material? The audio mods have been notified, but can't do shit because they dont have any tools. It's nice to know the admins here are responsive in general, but that takes awhile, as you guys are busy enough. So, it would be nice to have that rule altered, or at least, give the moderators their new tools please.

Ah, I just thought about this one. If a flash that happens to win an award is deleted then is it possible to have the next flash in line take it's place? It would be nice if underdog is deleted for whatever reason and then whoever was 2nd in the running now moved up to first instead.

Someone has mentioned this before, but I just need to say it again.

The rules NEED to be updated.

There are several things that should be listed there, if someone's new to the forum and reads those rules, it won't be enough. I find this to be great rules, you should take into account several things listed there and make them official.

What about the NG BBS Houserules? If someone's new here, he/she wouldn't search for a rules thread make a year ago, so there are several things that he/she wouldn't get to know.

I think you should be more strict about it, especially on the General forum. It's more like a spam forum, since it doesn't allow users to discuss maturely due to people that post like if they were 10 years old, making stupid comments constantly and flaming.

I think those "pair tittles" threads shouldn't be allowed, I'm talking about those threads which say "I jizzed on a mailwoman", "I got jizzed", "A guy got shot on my street", "I shot a guy today". Man, they are annoying. Isn't BBS supposed to be about discussion? Those threads are useless and only cause spam.

The New collab rules should be listed somewhere in the BBS rules, which just link to the old rules made 3 years ago. Things have changed now, and unless that link is listed somewhere, people who want to start a collab won't know them, and therefore many of them will get their threads locked.

Please, don't think I just hate you only because this thread is mainly negative, but think this is rather serious, I'd love to see a forum where we could maturely discuss about something quietly without being flammed.

I also think moderators should have an edit button. OK, if users had one the tool would be abused, I completely agree with this. But for things like crews, or long threads, if someone wants to make an update and just post it, that post will stay at a random page and many people wouldn't read it. So users could PM a mod, asking for them to edit the first post at the thread with the given information. Also this may be useful for the mods themself, as it would be an useful tool.

Another thing, as everyone knows, we can't put many blank lines together, actually we can't put a blank line next to each other. So if I press enter twice, or three times, It would be as I only pressed enter once, there would only be one blank line.

Why don't increase this limit and let us put two blank lines? It isn't enough to be abused, and it will be useful too. Usually when writing, if I want to start talking about something new in my post I leave 2 blank lines, so it would be different from the only blank line I leave when I'm writing different paragraphs.

Allow .swf files to be uploaded on your userpage
This is so people can upload demos of their flash game rather than having links to sites. People will more likely play the demo if it is on your userpage.

Give some more EMICONS for a good variety.
Emicons always spice up a Topic. I am finding myself searching for an emoticon to express my emotion for a thread, but I can't find a good one that is available. More emoticons would be fantastic.

Make it so that SONGS in the audio section of NG can be deleted based on the scoring system in the Flash section. However, because not that many people visit the audio portion of the site, make it pass judgment after 10 votes or so. *This way more will be highlighted green or blue* Also make them go on the front page as RECENT AUDIO SUBMISSIONS.

Give trophies for TOP 5 GAMES of the week and TOP 5 MOVIES of the week along with TOP 5 SONGS of the week. I have gotten into the top of the week with one of my games, but i didnt get a trophy because the top 5 weekly winner trophies go to the TOP 5 OVERALL MOVIES AND GAMES. I need proof that I got top of the week!

Make all adult content submitted to the forums (Rating og Adult) go to the Mature section of the site.

When I was little, all my friends and I loved to go to Newgrounds during lunch and play games. However, because there is so much porn and hentai submitted to Newgrounds, we always accidentally found a porn game and the teachers got mad at us. Plus, TONS of schools now block Newgrounds. Just add on to the Mature section idea.

Make more secrets

More secrets means more fun. I HATE the fact that there arent any more secrets besides naked pics of Tom.

For The Audio Portal

Have the Genre on New Submissions and Best of All-Time.

And don't even think about saying it's too hard because you've done it with the flash portal!

Most new submissions are down-rated because of misleading titles - and the listener expects trance or summit - and they get classical.

It is easier than going through every song trying to find a genre YOU like.

- Have some way for users who are probably never going to use the NG API to switch back to the old version. I can't stand the new thing.

- If a review on a submission is deleted, then the submission gets deleted, the review shows up on the obituary page. (At least, it does sometimes.) That should probably be fixed.

Now that I actually looked at the new thing, I have even more suggestions.

- Some sort of system to update old submission pages to the new system, like the system for icons. (A user can add tags and a genre to submissions that don't already have them, and update mods check to see if they are accurate.)

- Make it possible to add icons to any iconless submissions, not just the 1000 (or however many) listed on the add icons page.

- Browse by genre.

- Show the genre in the rollover thing on the main portal screen.

- Have some way to label an account as an alt for co-authoring purposes (in its account settings), so it doesn't need an API value or role. (This could be useful for accounts used to organize movies, like TheStarSyndicate, MozzMuseum, and TheVeryBestOfHLG (although it looks like HLG cleared that one...))

I'll probably have more later.

Need about five more icon mods who check daily for updates.

Having an orange strip for any adult rated game in the new submissions box, except when under judgement, although it should over-do any awesome score or great score tags.

This is probably going to sound stupid but i'll say it anyway.

In account options there should be an option to 'Safe-mode' your account which prevents any swear words, BBS images, Flashes rated aabove Mature and such to be shown.

Useful when round someone elses house and you don't want to leave adult material, and the swearing is just to not get in trouble because I was banned from my school's computers for three weeks because I had a swear word on screen at lunchtime.

Also, Is Saint's Aura out of the question?

This may not be as much as a problem for people like me quite yet, but I can see it being a problem later on. When someone adds me as a favorite artist I like to see who it is, but at times I can't tell who added me and who already had me on their favorites. I know I only have 25 people who have me as their favorite author, but I've already had a little trouble on telling who already had me and who just added me recently. Maybe have it so you can rearrange by the date of when someone added you to their favorites.

What would be cool is that now we have genres on flash, it should enable us to search a particular genre in the search bar or select a genre to search through, this would help narrow it down.
Also, it would be nice to see 'themes' we can put in our profiles.
