ALLOW MORE THAN JUST .SWF FORMATS TO BE UPLOADED TO THE SERVER

GIVE TROPHIES TO THE TOP 5 GAMES, SONGS, AND VIDEOS OF THE WEEK INSTEAD OF SEPERATE TROPHIES FOR THE OVERALL 5.

Well thats all! I have some more ideas but I am sure people have tons as well.

Oh and make these game categories:::

Point n click
Room escape
Platform

And make people who get TURD of the week NOT able to post on the front page. Spammers on the front page annoy me.

That's all I can think of right now, but maybe more coming later.

You should put in a whistle points counter system. That way, users know how many flashes or reviews they need to appropriately flag before they get an upgrade.

Get rid of the entire "Watch this Movie" / popup system and just display flash movies in the actual pages.

Something that sends you a PM when someone replys to your topic or your comment.

The experience system won't be changed, so why do people still insist on asking?

Why? That would cause problems, why do you think it was removed before? Imagine I make a topic, "FatKidWithAJetPak is a moron" and then include a link to your userpage, then you change your name and now the topic is useless, it will link to an error.

I think an optional FLA would be awesome for mods, like how people could mod FPA or Newgrounds Rumble like Luis could add himself to it if he wanted, but he couldn't upload it unless he replaced every character and/or upgrades.

A stricter portal policy where spam can't get through. Possibly a higher threshold for score? Like 2.0 or something. A lot of utter crap gets through.

Stronger system for keeping people from proxying etc. like cross reference IP with username and passwords etc..

ohh. silly housekeeping thing but I notice the main pages for "games" and "toons" and such have really old submissions...maybe having a randomized script to roll through the top 30 highest scoring submissions in that category.

Aside from that PM I sent you-

I would like to see normal users given the option to disable PM's as well as a way to remove their user page header.

I also have a cute idea for the review system - It might motivate people to write better reviews, and if they've never wrote one this might encourage them to start:

If we had a review rating system, similar to the way the whistle stats work.

Say users are undecided on a review a user posts, this won't weigh either way on their review scale. Say a user writes a review which people think isn't useful, this will throw them back a couple notches on the scale depending on how many are in agreement( I'll get to how I think it should work last). If users think their review is helpful they will gain points towards being a five star reviewer and up.

Users gain points, or lose points depending on how many peers are in agreement with weather or not the review is helpful or lousy UP TO FIVE POINTS PER REVIEW. Meaning users can either gain or lose UP TO BUT NOT NECESSARILY five points per review.

There will be nine reviewer levels, no stars, one star, two stars, three stars, four stars, five stars, then five bronze, five silver, and five golden.

Make users have their own newgrounds email addresses built in.

Admins answering more than just one PM.

I have seen many ideas in here about multiple ways to gain exp. I honestly think this is a very bad idea. I have one idea though.

Instead of just randomly making users mods, admins should create a list of say 10, and users (no mods, admins, people in the list) have to vote for who they want to get modship. That way less people can't moan when someone becomes mod whom they do not like.

I also (after consideration) agree with the music player in the userpage idea.
I also think people who create c&c should be allowed some mod privs, just like - banning people from the club. Because you see these rules but they can't do anything about it.

Search string length matching at least the maximum characters available for topic titles for threads like the story advertisement thread which exceed the 20 character limit.

Also some kind of phrase search(possibly surrounded by quotes) or an 'and' equivalent by default. Basically if I put something as specific as linux users club or story advertisement thread in the search box I want it on the first page.

Bring back the planned feature of moving things around on your page.

Allow users to preview their posts on the BBS. I do not know how many times I have seen people forget to put in pictures, or double-post. Also, sometimes links or pictures just do not work. This would at least give users the ability to discover these problems before they post. Furthermore, I cannot conceive of a way in which this feature could be abused. It would simply allow users to preview their BBS posts before they permanently post them. From my perspective there are legitimate benefits to this feature, but no negative effects. Therefore, I think the ability to preview BBS posts is a logically addition to Newgrounds.

How about you bring the old swf. of the voting system back, the one that looked really cool and had an animation for processing your vote, and it had the little sound when you clicked.

I know some of these may have been mentioned, but I feel they should be reiterated:

- A "Sent PMs" folder. We've all been there, you send a PM then forget whether you sent it and have no way of checking.

- A "Flag movie as spam" option for whistling flash. I can't tell you how many flashes I've seen that are just an epileptic nightmare but can't be flagged as they don't really fit into the other categories.

- Increased character limit for putting links in our sigs. The HTML tags eat into the limit very quickly.

- A post preview option. Even after proofreading (which most people don't do anyway) it is still very easy to make a typo and not notice it until after posting, at which point it is too late.

Strikeout for posts; there is bold/italic/underlined already, so strikeout would be nice to have and has it's own uses too, like when you want to have a joke/sarcastic comment.

View gems; removed after the redesign, though they don't do anything, they did look good as landmarks for a flash.

Icon helper submissions; I heard rumours in the past that icons users made would show up in their profile, I would really like to see this, maybe it would encorage more people to make them.

Depositing for voting on Audio; well audio is a big part of the site as well, not as big as the flash side but maybe it would be nice for all those who spend more time in the audio portal.

Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Take away the Turd of the Week. Why do we have an award for the worst flash submitted in a week? We should not be celebrating bad flashes. Instead, you could have two review crew picks: one for a movie and one for a game.

Also, record how long a submission was on the front page where you put the trophies on the submission page.

News post mods

i know it sounds stupid but being able to remove the wares, porn etc.

Could be useful.

Bbs furoms could use some more sections like a Rpg section where people who play rpgs could meet and play together in the game they both play

This would help Ng furoms by calming the traffic down in other furoms

You may think like why dont you just join a group but groups dont always workout that well most of them fail and it would be better to just make a section just for rpgs because then people could talk about certain things and most people who play ng or go on computers play rpgs so plz make it and i promise you alot of people would be thankful

I just had an idea for the 'Some type of account thingy' box in the lower right hand corner.

What if it showed the current moderators who were online on all the forums? That way, someone who sees spam in a thread can just scroll to the bottom of the page and see which mods are on and that would make it easier to report it.

I know people can click the forums button and scroll down to see all the mods online, but it would be shortcut to that.

Was just thinking it would be nice to have a navigation bar for the blogs where we can choose which ones are up top, they are bolded etc. That way we can have more than one announcement readily visible, and emphasize the which ones we think are important, rather than a chronological structure only. Perhaps even have that navigation bar be customizable for each blog...

Or how about a "report abuse" button that sends a message to a random mod out of all the mods online (or if there are none, the first to log in).

Because if there are none online, it's just a "HEY GUYS, NO MODS!" advertisement.

I think that the blam/save system needs to be reworked a little bit.

Right now it's good, but I think whatever percentage of rank you are in you get theat percentage of voting power.

Say you are a Town Watch and you have a total of 150 b/s points. I think you should have the extra 2.5 voting power, instead of the 2 bonus percentage.

I would also enjoy a Detective rank.
