The search engine in the Audio Portal could use some enhancing!
More specifically, would it be possible to add more sorting methods?
Right now it sorts on scores automatically however it doesn't take the amount of votes in account.
Uploads with 13 votes and an average of 4,46 are listed higher then ones with 1344 votes and an average of 4,34 for example.
I believe sorting on amount of votes/reviews/downloads/listens should be made possible.

I think there needs to be a new Submission Category:
Interactive Movie Category
So, this would be a different submission category instead of Movie or Game. Interactive movies would be like Movies where you decide the fate of your character or alter the movie in any way. Quizzes might also fall under this category.

I would love to see some sort of notification for when people reply to my posts. I love conversing on the BBS, but I hate not replying to other people's posts when they replied to mine, expecting an answer.

I think we should have more aura choices, like if you're a mod, you could have part gold and part whatever you want. Or maybe we could have like Fab+Dark, Light+Evil, Idk this was just an Idea, because I really like auras.
And I like the old system, where your aura was determined by your voting disposition. We should be able to choose between manual disposition or auto-determine.

The big thing for me is artist updates, or being informed on a weekly or daily basis (the person's choosing) when new art, music or flash has entered the portal from their favorite artists. As a musician, I think when you grasp a listener, you just get him or her that one time; they like it, favorite it, then don't look back on it again. It's kinda like FaceBook groups.

At least with an artist update system, we'd be more in the know on who's truly our NG faves.

Also, someone should look into deactivating all those abandoned accounts. If they have a single flash or song up, they're safe, because they had some sort of activity. By inactive, I mean "started in 99 and never did a thing". I think deleting a few hundred thousand dead accounts will really help with server space, new names (for newcomers), and some third thing.

have it so that you must review a certain amt of things before you can submit more stuff - this encourages people to give better votes, and more votes.

Seriously though, Collection mods, i see so many games and movies not in collections, even the blockbuster ones and it saddens me :(
Lets get some moderators to add submissions just floating around and guide them into the collection they are suppose to go in.
Seriously, not even me recommending something for a collection helps out anything.

Could you maybe make it so that also Russian characters could be allowed? Because then we totally could have a Russian group in the Groups forum :3

One thing I would REALLY like, is not giving the ability to people to vote on their own submissions, I think that's just stupid.

We should be able to buy something with the medal - points we get from flash games. Like some kind of useless profile decoration or... something...

i have to leave the screen to see a message i just got, what if im playing a game or watching a movie and someone mails me? They're gonna be left to dry for like...MINUTES!
But yeah sometimes i have intense conversations with people and i don't want ot exit a game im playing to respond to them constantly, so real time messages is helpful.

Ok, so, I've been thinking: What if there was a way to save your gameplay data online to your own account? I know flash uses cookies to save game data but maybe if there was a way to upload those cookies to NG and have it download at your discretion to your computer so that way whenever you're not on your own computer, you don't have to wrack you head about how to pass level 30.

And to add to that, I'd also like to suggest an in-thread search feature as it helps for the HUGE threads (like this one).

Hopefully I don't get flamed and trolled upon for this..

What if you could show your rank on the BBS too? As not many people would visit your profile.
Just under your level and aura a little text telling what your B/P rank is. Just a small idea.

have a hall of fame for users in the audio portal - somethnig to strive to that immortalizes them like the flash portal has for authors and series :)

I have a proposal to make to slightly reform the whistle system. Hear me out liljim. :)

Whenever people flag reviews that comes to the attention of a review mod, and that mod clears the flags on that review, those reviews should be protected from further flagging. See, if the flags are cleared on that review, different people will likely keep flagging the same review(s), which I imagine would cause an unnecessary workload for the review mods to deal with. So I propose that when a review is cleared of flags by the review mods, there should be a statement adjacent to the review stating something along the lines of "This review cannot be flagged because it has been deemed non-abusive by review mods the first time it was flagged."

I think this would be great for the review mods, their workload is perpetually large.

PM Search

I have a lot of PMs, and there are often times when I like to go back to read old PMs where I was given advice, or just want to remember what I talked about with a certain person and don't know the date of when I PM'd them.

I've recently been using the search feature in my email program, and I think it's incredibly useful so I could definitely see a search function in our PM pages to be useful as well. I also think it would be great if you could filter it by username / title / body / date / all 4 at once.

Medal Approval Moderators

Basically anyone can put medals in there games, and it's becoming more and more popular for games these days to have it.

There is an approval process, but I've heard from people that it's sometimes slow and they're mainly waiting on that.

So how about a team of people knowledgeable in the implication of the API to be sort of a Help line/Approval squad?

It'll prevent a lot of broken medal games from appearing.

I'd like to see art reviews get the same pages flash and audio reviews have. Right now the only way to see how many art reviews you've written is from the main /reviews page, and you can only ever see the most recent 3 of them.

One idea is to have a "Grounds Platinum" feature, which would require a subscription fee. (A possible pricing scheme is $5/mo., $50/yr and $200/lifetime). This would be a great way to support Newgrounds.

Some people may balk at this idea, but subscribing members could get benefits like:

1. Exclusive forums
2. Exclusive access to alpha content (avalaible from participating authors)
3. A special aura, or a star next to their name on their forums
4. Priority customer support and content approval
5. Increased submission limits
6. A users.newgrounds.com e-mail address (it would not be on the main newgrounds.com domain so people cannot impersonate staff members).
7. Ability to go ad-free (some Flash submissions would still have built-in ads)

N-Bot

Basically, this little guy would send you notifications, if you had any, in a pm every day. Stuff could include:

-Whether your thread has been posted in
-If anyone has posted on your news posts
-Whether any of your games/movies have made money
-If you are user of the day
More and more!

You would be able to turn him off, or certain parts of him of from your account page, but who'd do that to him? ;)

New Rule for reviews

The rules for the reviews right now is pretty good but I thought a new rule that could be added is something like " no telling how to get the medals to a game " Cause I see all the time people in the reviews telling users how to get the secret medals and it does help but the author made that medal secret for a reason not so people can tell how to get the secret medals.

New Rule on Voting

Good day Evo. thread. I have a suggestion to make.

Voting, especially for AUDIO, is completely unbalanced between 0's and 5's. This is not just a simple complaint of "WHY was my song bombed WAHH", but I did an experiment with some of my own songs. I chose 2 with the same general score and votes, and gave one a 0 and the other a 5. The 0 made the score go down by about .56 points, while a 5 made the otyher song only go up by .10. This makes it way too easy for quality songs to be bumped off the top of lists.

Even songs with 50+ votes, a 0 takes off .09 from the score.

Different auras for mods
I would imagine new mods are coming with the lit and chat being released with the redesign. And with all the mods having gold aura that might get a little confusing. I think all the big mods like bbs, art, audio, review get the gold aura and maybe some of the other mods get sliver aura or something similar.

Oh yeah and give artists the ability to mass PM their fans, you can only send ONE message at a time and Ting-tonger sends all 130 of his fans a PM about his latest song and he has to do it one-by-one.
Make things easier for him, and other artists for that manner.

A tankman easter egg by clicking on the tank something happens, i don't know what but it's better than redirecting you to a site you are ALREADY ON.

Right now the difference between 3rd and 50th all time is 0.00

I'd like a different measuring stick for that. I have no idea what that would be, but I definitely think something has to be done here. Maybe retire submissions from the list after some number of weeks, and have a Hall of Fame for submissions that were so good they broke the list?

That would make a nice round 30 ranks.
