I started this thread because some idiot started one telling people to vote other(like thats an option)Don't tell me your throwing your vote away, like voting for someone you don't want in office is better. I know a third party candidate is not going to win but if 10% voted other than republican or democrat it would scare the shit out of the main parties forceing them to do there damn job instead of just competing with one other person every 4 years
Here is a list of political parties for those of you who don't know any (or sadly that there were any)
I am a Libertarian mainly because I am
Anti-gun control
Pro choice
Pro drug legalization
If you belong to a third party I'd like to see you make a case for it here.
I like the way you think :D
My family is always going ape shit because I say that im not voting. And why? because both candidates are a joke... they are so busy talking about how bad the other guy is that they cant even give you a clear picture about what they are for. Im not voting because the two are ridiculous.
Plus my one vote isnt going to make a difference. Some of you nay-sayers may think "oh theres 20 million other people out there that think the same thing so they dont vote either, so your vote makes a big difference". Bullshit. If I vote it wont cause some magical chain reaction and influence other non-voters to go out and vote.

The green party seems the closest to my views, but I've seen their presidential candidates and I'd never vote for them. Nader was their best candidate.

Pro choice
Pro drug legalization
Ummm I really don't see how it would be shit I don't believe in removing all gun control (I actually wish the still did a week long fed. back round check) All law abiding citizens in the US can legally get a gun already. All non law abiding citizens can acquire one illegally.
As for cocaine many people I know can get it illegally but most choose not to, besides the government should not have the right to tell you how to live YOUR life, you aren't hurting anyone but yourself so if you want to snort coke fine by me.

If youre pro drug legalization you shouldn't be a libertarian. Without strong government to enforce the liberties you want in the private sector copanies will continue to drug test and discriminate for efficiency reasons, and libertarians will never tell a private company what they can and can't do with their employees. Also without strong government you won't have any options but to work for these companies as they will run everything. Then the companies will set up their own worker communities and if you want to work for them you'll have to submit to gun searches (can't have dangerous threats to the company) and their private gun bannings, as far as pro choice goes, well you may get that one, but it would depend on the area, and with the private industrie's love of using religion to control the population you may lose out on that as well.
Libertarians are pro drug legalization as for coorporations they should be allowed to run there business as they wish.
Also if the Libs. succeeded in there primary objectives I would probably jump ship.

Why would you be for legalization.
Just move to san francisco if it really bothers you that much.
Anyway, I think it's sad that the third candidate wasn't invited to the debates.

The two major parties deny third parties access to debates since they can't debate with people who make sense.

so I know I posted earlier... but I just have to do it again. I hate those posters that say McCain or Obama. So I get home from class today and what is in my yard? a McCain Palin poster. what the fuck? Apparently my grandparents put it there. So now my obama supporting neighbors, whomever they may be, will now hate me

Meh, the political system doesn't owe you anything. Don't expect to have a viable option served on a silver plate.
