But what did you expect? The gods attempted to bind him three times. And when Gleipnir was created and restrained Fenrir, he agreed to only attempt to break it if a god steps forth and places his hand in the wolf's maw. This was done as a pledge to free Fenrir if he could not break Gleipnir. He was not freed after he failed, and subsequently bit Tyr's hand off. And, really, add this to the fact that Loki was his father, and it's not hard to imagine why Fenrir turned on the Aesir.
