i think Viking mythology long Pre-dates their all, its a nice theroy, but it think fenrir doesn't represent anything, and is just a giant wolf.

Maybe, but there isn't a fine line between viking mythology and 8th - 11th ad paganism.

Im quite interested in the vikings too, its something I'd like to read up on more.
I always watch the documentry's when they are on but I think I might get a book or look elsewhere for more info.

Something interesting to add is when I was in Ireland I went over to a small island by boat on my own, there was an old church and barracks made of stone, about half of them left from the bottom up.
You can see marks the Vikings left there all those centuries ago on rocks, Im never that interested in anything academic but this is the sort of thing that makes me want to know more.

I'm learning German right now, and I've noticed a few similarities between the two. So, if at all possible, could one of our Scandinavian members tell me if their language is at all like German?

My dad said Swedish is actually quite easy to learn because there are no complicated prefixes to words and no masculine or feminine words. I my self have been meaning to learn some Faroese, just because it would be cool to know a language a lack of people know, and it is a variant of danish, influenced by the vikings.

Yeah, but masculine and feminine words don't make a language hard. Spanish isn't hard because of masculine and feminine. I am interested in languages, though I really don't know what other language I want to learn other than Spanish, which when I go to college I'll probably just take a class or two to help me get a better grip on it.

Yeah, that would be fairly obscure and fun to learn. It would be interesting to see how many people outside those islands know the language.
