You can buy them from Forbidden Planet in the UK.
Oil paint takes a long time to dry. You can get the at the teddy troops site, the figurines themselves are european.
Anyway for anyone wondering.. the link i posted in my first post is back in stock.

If you are in Europe, you might save some money by buying it from a European based site.
Heres one I found for you

You can add stuff as long as you totally dont change the general shape of it... its not much fun if yours is the one that looks like a giant spider or something... life is about compromises and the shape of this figure is more dominant than last year but thats just the challenge of it this year. you have to learn to deal with it.

Are these things poseable at all? Like do the arms move and stuff?
I never entered into the munny thing. May give this one a razz. See if I can't get my creative juices flowing again.

Last year the arms werent poseable but the head was removeable and the back and front could be used interchangeably... this time i believe the arms are poseable... and the helmet isnt removeable... however on some websites it claims that it IS removeable... whoever gets it first clear that rumorrrr

Oh man, I can't wait to get into this. I want to do a kind of cartoony/sketchy style. Too many ideas running through my head, and most of them clash with other designs :/ Meh, I'll think of something.
Oh, and FATSHARK, thanks so much for the outline!

Okay, here's a work in progress for you guys. (Is a WIP allowed Luis?) I have a couple ideas, I just don't know which ones to do. So I'm mixing and matching at the moment.
With this one, I don't want it to look to cluttered and crowded, but it just looks crap :/

I just bought mine from the MyPlasticHeart store (F shippin and handling) and no the helmet does not come off. Also they are smaller than the Munny figure I had.
Luis, am I allowed to lop off the top of the head to make a zombie Teddy Troop? I just want to know the limitations of altering the shape of the figure.

figured I'd skip the hassle of trying to win a figure and just ordered a few online. As far as the contest goes is it going to be strickly one entery per person or am I allowed to send in multiple figures?
I will eventually get around to putting something here. for the meantime here is a link to my portfolio

Dude if I was you I wouldn't. Think about it, Luis chose this specific model for this contest (I'm guessing) because of the shape, especially the helmet. If I were you I'd paint the brain or whatever on the helmet, not only will it look nicer but it shows you painting skills. And as Louis said, it's a painting competition not a crafting one.
My opinion, do what you want though.
