I am a Karaoke god.

So we had a "Rockstar" themed day at work today.. I just wore a band tee and jeans. Anyway they had karaoke going on in the breakroom all day.. it was kinda cool, they had a (really expensive) karaoke machine, a fog machine, a disco ball, and some strobe lights. Most of the people sucked pretty hard at the songs they sang.. So I figured "what the hell? I can't be much worse than these people."

So I went up and sang "Hey Jude".. During the song, people were waving cell phones and lighters. it was great. Afterwards, SEVERAL people came up and told me how great of a job I did. I really didn't think I did that well, though I did stay on key. So later my buddy Jerry and I sang "Pour Some Sugar On Me".. that one was pretty cool.. we got all into it.

Anyway, it was a pretty good day.. the compliments I got really made me feel awesome. I haven't felt that good since my days in community theater like 8 years ago.

Anyone else sang Karaoke in public? what did you sing? and were you intoxicated first?

Karaoke is a good ego booster. So many people are so bad at it that even if you suck, there's bound to be someone worse.
