Friday 19th
It was the best thing that my school has ever done. We had great food, and just danced for 4 hours in a huge mosh pit. There were people crowd surfing (including me), everyone was just having such a great time. The DJ was a prick but i bribed him to put on Before i Forget by slipknot on (Its a great song to mosh to, and nearly everyone knows it) We had the whole crowd chanting to it and moshing to the beat. The best part was, when it came to slow dance in pairs, nobody was really immature about it, and just cause you asked someone to dance didn't mean you liked them as a girlfriend.
Oh and we all got to wear spiffy suits.
It was the best fun i have had in a long time, so i ask you NG what was the most memorable thing about your year 11/12 School ball/formal?

I don't go to school formals because I am a geek and very anti-social. =D I like to imagine they suck and there is a lot of crappy rap music.
I'd be equally angry if it was Slipknot, though. I don't think I want to mosh either.
My idea of a good time is not being an idiot in a large group of people.

I can agree with you to an extent, and there was alot of rap/hip hop, but its one of the defining moments of your school career. I also agree there would have been better songs than before i forget, but i figured i should get something that people know.
Moshing and dancing with people isnt being an idiot.

I don't consider school a career, as I don't get payed for it, and I think moshing does make you look like an idiot, or maybe it's the fact that the person is already an idiot and the moshing just amplifies it?

Those happened at my elementary school (6th, 7th grade) like a couple of times in a year and I have to say they were fuck lame.
We always had this cheesy techno/pop music playing like Britney Spears (pop) for example or some stupid shit like Gummi bear (its a song google it).
What I even hated more was the slow songs, where you danced with a partner (I never did cause it's stupid). Everyone just holds their partner and turns in a circle, woooo.

Your 13 years old, you havent had a proper school ball with suits and the like. Anyway eventually you will appriciate dancing with girls.
Has nobody out there had a good school ball?

That, Paul-My-God, is THE way your school ball/prom should have been. You were lucky it was, and that was, as you said, the greatest time of your life.

Fuck the balls/dances. The only thing I'm going to is prom, that's about it.
I prefer parties that are not school related.

Year 11: won a trophy for the slickest tango moves, had a blast.
Year 12: won the best dressed award; i wore a suit complete with top hat, cane and gloves. (And I got to keep the top hat, cane and gloves!)

The only thing I remember was that I was drunk when I got there.

Since nothing will ever equal how rapturously wonderful the dance was, the attendee can never truly be happy again! It's all downhill from there until death!

I can beat you.
I turned up to my year 11 leavers do in a motherfucking tank.
Had an awesome night. No slipknot moshpits, but had an awesome time jumping around to shit like Blur - Parklife n stuff.
Then drove off into the distance in a motherfucking tank.

My year 11 was a let down because I wasn't old enough to drink, didn't like drinking anyway, and was too embarrassed to dance.
Then in year 13 I was old enough to drink so I sat at the bar with my mates and drank all night. Even got a few drinks bought for me by the teachers, which was probably the most awesome thing ever.

I did, my first year on my new school, unfortunately my gf just broke up with me, fortunately, i didn't give a crap.
But that one was really good, good food, good music.
Only problem is, there aren't many people who like dancing, so the dancing 'stage'was mostly empty :P

I plan on taking a tank to the year 12 formal ball while wearing a tuxedo, and have quoted that exact same line to my friends who are taking a stretch hummer. Good minds think alike eh?
Also we only played one slipknot song, but that was the one that really got the crowd moving, the rest was either hip hop (flo rider, metro station) or rock (blur, faker, metallica). Anyway that's pretty cool, and im glad other have had fun at their balls.
Whats with NG? are you afraid of dancing with girls, and having fun?
