I actually liked Death Note, because it was different from the other shows.

Just the really over-dramatic scenes in the anime kinda ruined the manga.

Read the manga, it's much more detailed and shows more development of the characters and events.

The anime just took out mostly all the main story arcs and left out a few of the side-stories.

Whoever made Death Note should die.

There's a giant 100 episode slump that is pure shit before they grow up. And then another filler arc just ended that was totally bullshit.

The problem with Bleach and Naruto is that they have to stretch it on and on to not catch up with the manga. It's fucking tedious. At least the current BLeach filler arc is pretty good compared to standard filler crap.

So anyways, keep watching Naruto, it's gonna pay off soon because it gets awesome. Bleach hasn't become that much more awesome yet.

That's not how you watch Anime you fewel. Anime is meant to be watched in a long uninterupted stream. You can't form an opinion of an anime from watching just 10 or episodes, at least when it comes to some of them that run on and on like Bleach, Naruto, DB, One Piece etc.

Now if only someone could make like a condensed version of Naruto, cutting all the filler episodes, all the intros, all the credits, all the flashbacks etc. It would last about 1/3rd as long but it would kick so much more ass.

I loved Death Note because it wasn't as long as a friggin soap opera. It went through the story to the point unlike shows like Naruto, Inuyasha Etc. that just have a random battle each episode and the actual story takes forever to go through (No I'm not going to watch 250+ episodes for my lifes sake!). I hate Lights voice and the censoring in the English version though. According to wikipedia (I think I read it there) the Death Note Movie was rated PG-13 in Japan and the English version added "choice swear words" to make it rated R. It dosn't make any sense.

I just said this on the last page, They're both the same shows, shallow and horribly stupid. Pulling out the "THE MANGA IS WAY BETTER" excuse is just old.

Corrected, and I just know that im somehow supporting your hypothesis, but still i dont think that some guy fighting someone, losing, training, beating them, following that same pattern over and over with crappy fighting is really any better then death note.

Er, no, the manga is not better. The manga is just the same.
I'm saying that in Naruto, the story gets way better now and they haven't animated it yet. The show hasn't covered those parts and they're the best parts so far ( imo ).

And I guess you could say the manga is better because it had less filler and I guess that would be true, but overall the anime follows the manga word for word and they probably rip the storyboards straight off the manga panels to save money.

Death Note is just a wasted premise. You have a guy who can kill anyone with a badass book and all he does is basically try to prove his innocence to a mental fucktard who just KNOWS he's guilty because that's how the show is written.
That's stupid. The entire premise of the show relies on the fact that it's believable and realistic, like it would impress me how smart they both are.

And then you have the death gods who basically do nothing good all along. Lame turds.

p.s. I don't read manga I think it's far lamer than watching the actual show and I'll be damned if I'm going to read any book that doesn't have it's own show seeing as Sailor Moon lasted like 30 seasons. Not that I'd know but that shit looks horrible.

I only read bleach and naruto because I was tired of the anime moving so fucking slowly and I wanted to read more of the story. OH WELL

I have a question, oh Poxpower: why did you make this thread? I'm assuming you're not just trolling, so why start a "discussion" on something that you know people are just going to disagree with you and not bother to defend their opinions. I for one am not going to debate your taste in anime as i went through a narutard phase and so i can understand how you would like that. What I will say on the subject is this: while i agree that Death Note is perhaps fairly far-fetched and has some gaps in its characters' reasoning, I enjoy it (and many others do too) for the reasons that I like that overdramatic method of storytelling, and I like the fact that the characters depicted are intelligent and have plans that actually are more involved than "I'm going to kick his ass."

I thought it was pretty good until they killed off L, i thought the confrontations between Light and L were pretty interesting, the whole mind games thing they were doing, far fetched and a bit silly, but still interesting.
Naruto is kinda ehhh for me.
I used to watch Dragonball religiously when i was a kid, Never seen bleach.
I like Coybow Beebop and Gundam Wing, i like Gundam because of its ridiculously political overtones. :)

I quite liked the original comics and the live action film was pretty good.

But most seemed a bit legit, like L following the theory that one of his teams relatives is Ciara due to police secrets being leaked etc etc.

Deathnote, one of my favorite manga, way before it hit the US. The last note was a great movie...really enjoyed the character portrayals of yagami and lawliet, haven't picked it up in a bit might watch it again tonight. Also if any deathnote fans haven't picked up volume 13, do it :) nifty bookmark in there.

I watch anime because American tv can't make that stuff. They don't have the money to produce something like Naruto or Bleach, each episode would cost roughly as much as The Matrix.

You seem to have an opinion that only takes into account the average stereotypical japanese writer. So yes, most Japanese shows (including Death Note) have bad dialogue, a lack of humour and are unnecessarily overemotional or overdramatic. But Death Note is actually has a fairly well thought out storyline, and people like it. So if you don't like it don't watch it, but why bother us about it just because you don't think that the Japanese can right a show?

I've seen the show but a few times. The plot is alright for a few shorts, but I don't know how anyone can pull a whole plot out of it. Sure it's alright for the first few episodes, but after that it's about as repetitive as the pumping of an engine, I suppose.
