if i wanted to get into flash animation and such, where do you think i should start?, and what do you think is the best way of learning basic and new techniques?

The best way to begin anything is to jump head first into it. Go get yourself a copy of Flash and start going crazy!

Do some drawings to get to know the drawing side of the software.
Then do some motion tweens with those to figure that side out.
Then do some frame by frame animations in symbols and using onionskin etc.
Then when you've practiced all three you should be able to combine them to make a full proper flash.

Well, when I first got interested in animation, I started with simple FBF animations using programs from here (look for GIFsplitter and UNfreeze in freeware).

Don't blow your cash on flash until you know you are going to get into it.

All this granted I have no submissions. :(
