I had trouble with Spanish French and Italian in grade school since I just didn't care for languages I guess. Now that i'm taking Japanese in college and have seen a larger spectrum on why and how language exists and is formed, it has become easier for me to understand those previous languages because of their similarity to English. I guess it just depends how you experience language as a whole :P

"I guess my kick made his penis explode since blood started gushing down his leg." - Stoptalking
personally i think going to japan would be awesome, and learning japanese is an obvious excuse to go to japan at some point so go for it.
Got Spoon?
obviously!
Do it instead of something rubbish though
Japanese is a great language, i fully recommend it.
If you need any help hit me up a PM.
yes. do it. i took japanese all 4 years in high school and I thank myself everyday for it.
Ok. I've decided that I'll leave this thread alone until Monday. How many people vote will decide if I do it or not.
Remember, how many people say yes or no by MONDAY will determine if I take Japanese or not.
Thank you for you're time.
i kinda want to but its way to much work. Cant be assed.

Only Quebec speaks French, the rest of the country speaks Canadian. Since the year 2002 I believe. You should ask a Canadian next time you get the chance.
I wanted to learn both Japanese and German. I was FORCED to take Spanish in middle school and tried French in high school
I failed on all 4 accounts and now all I understand is English and 1337.
I suck so hard
Ok, I've decided to postpone the decision until this Friday, because I'm a pussy and won't go in that easily.
Flier for the JCC
I have a cousin who went on holiday to Japan and met a hot Japanese girl who came back to UK with him. After a while he went back to Japan with here for a few months and picked up the language. He then got a job teaching Japanese men English so they can come over to the UK and USA to work. He earns a fortune now but his life was going nowhere until then. So by this point I would say go for it.

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!!!
Oh my god! What a bunch of retards.
Whoever says that Japanese is a hard language to learn is also retarded. The grammar is so much easier than in English. If you're looking for a hard language try Chinese, the tonal language with no alphabet and over 3000 characters.

I think you just made it clear that its You, who is the retard.
fucking retard.
I'm taking japanese right now.
If you get a good teacher it's do-able.
But if you get a hard teacher it can be the hardest language to learn.
Those who say chinese is harder is wrong. Those who say this obviously havent learned katana, hiragana, AND kanji.
kanji is very hard.

"Katana" and hiragana is just having an extra alphabet. It's easy to drill that stuff into your head, but believe me, one romanized phrase can have several meaning depending on your pronunciation. For example, one Chinese phrase can mean either "I want you to stay here.", "Do you want me to stay here?", "The weather may favor you to stay here, but I want you to get out.", "LET ME STAY HERE!".

Might I suggest a regionally useful language, like Spanish or even French?
