How easy is it to install a Proxy?

I want to install a proxy on my computer so during the day, whilst at school I could visit the sites I like most besides porn sites.

It's mostly to show off some stuff and such, but I was wondering if anyone could help me in obtaining this dream.

It is a legit site and works really well. Just be sure to clear your history after using it because it is kind of easy to trace.

You don't "download" a proxy.

Search Google for "free proxy server" and you should find what your looking for.

I have a friend who did it. His method involved routing the internet through his house, back through the school, then to some server in Japan, and back to his computer. He could access his facebook at school, but it would take 4-5 minutes per page.

Well, we're sorta going in a vague direction, you can download the software to make your computer or IP address a proxy, and that of which is what I'm looking for, basically my school's internet automatically blocks like any website with the word proxy in it's Google description or on the actual website(Bit of a dramatization, but might as well be fact).

Anyone know of a place I can get the software?

That's why you always use an American server. You get -a lot- of lag if you try to do foreign servers most of the time, although there have been a few cases when I've been alright.

I actually have a proxy website set up; not sure if it's blocked or not, seeing as I'm the only person that really uses it. I made it to get around my school's block on MySpace.

Some places have firewall routers blocked too though..so it may not work.

Wow just in time! I was looking for something like this also, but different and different reasons...

Ok, so I've been going to some sites that could possibly cause legal trouble...(not that I "grow" anything) and I'd like to basically mask my IP address from prying eyes. I've been turned to Torpark, but could someone explain exactly what it does? And when I use it it seems to take forever when I actually use it, how do I get a closer IP mask or routing.

Someone has also talked about shell accounts or proxys, niether of which do I know what they do.

So a little help please...

Actually most school/work computers block search results and pages with the word "proxy" in them

So just find a good list of proxies tonight (proxy.org) and write them down for school tomorrow.

Where do you think proxies come from, magical land of the internet? Some installed them to their site so others or just themselves can use it. I want the software so I can install and host a proxy from my computer so I can use it, you twat.
