Adding on to what Pigeonmaster said if you don't want to get banned from making short posts, you need to put a decent amount of effort into your posts, it's considered +1 posting when you only post a couple of words with using little grammer skills. Typing a good 2 to 3 sentence post says that you want to contribute in some way.

Actually, I believe the server just won't let you do more than four. I think I remember getting to the limit some time ago.

I did not know you can post 4 post on the same thread in 30 minutes. agreed, most people get it for the post count. And spamming also can get you banned.

I'm sure my math is wrong though, because ZAAL has 46k posts and been a member 4 years, so that's 1/12th of the max he could have posted, which can't be right...

Actually, I see no reason for your calculation being incorrect in the slightest in light of this supposed incongruity. Your maximum estimate of 2,880 posts per day will only hold true if that's all that they're doing throughout the day. However, even the most fanatical BBS poster will not be able to keep that kind of pace up for an entire day, never mind for an entire year. Once you take into consideration all the other things that need to be done on a daily basis, it becomes pretty clear that getting over 100.000 posts in a year would be nigh on impossible unless you had several friends in various time zones to post for you on a rota basis.

It's a time based script. If you try to post more than 4 times in the same thread within half an hour, you will get this message.

Basically, it's a way of saying that you need to learn how to copy / paste quoted text and you need to think more about what you're going to put into your posts, before you commit them to the boards forevermore.

Your about right. I think there was a user who did 10,000 post in a year, but he had help with a friend and they were constantly on newgrounds. So though feasibility it is possible because there are no limitations on post count, time wise, you would basically be spending every waking moment posting. And plus a forum mod would pick up on that eventually so they would have to make posts acceptable every time in order to prevent being banned or having deletions. And also they would have to avoid spam threads, which would be inevitable anyway considering there isn't much during times of the year or days.

I think you might have miscalculated a little. If it's 120 posts an hour, it's 2880 posts per day (24*120).

Also, 2880*365 is 1,051,200 -- the theoretical maximum per year is in the millions, not hundred thousands ;)

I see that a lot of people will actually just READ the topic, and then post what everyone else said in a shortened format. This happens a lot, and I believe that they just do it for the +1 post.

It's a different story if it is posted at the same time (roughly), because there is a possibility that they were both posting the same thing. But, this, just no.

You know I use to PM people who answered questions like this several days later and asked them exactly why did they answer the question even though it had been answered several times already and most of them say the same exact thing.
