I've driven into London once,and vowed never again. Half the time you're stationary, the other half you're screaming at other road users who've cut you up or pedestrians who seem oblivious to the fact they've got 2 ton of motor bearing down on them.

If I drive to the meet, it'll probably be as far as Reading or Slough to park then get the train or bus in.

May I recommend you never, ever, go to slough?

I'm still almost certain to be turning up as far as I'm aware. I'm still trying to sort out the provisional driver's licence so I have some ID, I've got the form. I just need to fill it out and send it.

What games do you have for it? I've heard rants and raves about how it's got better graphics, plays better, etc than an X-Box 360 but I've never actually touched a PS3 ever before. If you could bring it along, great; I'd be interested to try it out of curiosity. Otherwise, no problem really since I'm only attending the Saturday meet and hoping to stay over-night.

I meant to say that hotel is london city road travelodge. About 1 and a half miles from whitechapel.

If you need games for the flat (PS3) I've got singstar which is always a good drunken game.

nah it's just i live about 3 hours from london so the plan would be to drive up nearby, take the train or whatever the rest of the way, then if i end up needing a place to stay i can venture back to my car and be a useless hobo sleeping in my car :P

i cant really get the train all the way there because i have no cash to get accomodation :(

I could bring down a Nintendo Wii, if anyone is up for the party games (Wii Sports & Play, Rayman Raving Rabbids and of course, Super Smash Bros. Brawl), only two controllers though, so if someone could take a couple with 'em, that would be good too.
If there's a PS3 coming down then the only multiplayer games I have are Resistance: Fall of Man, and Ridge Racer 7, but an extra SIXAXIS is always good (no Dual Shock 3, sorry). No 360 games, but again, another controller, heh.

I have Rainbow 6, Army of 2 and Megal Gear 4 with MGO capability for my list of games. I shall be bringing it forth to the secret NG den :D

A few people have been PMing me about accomidations, I'll update that hub page later today regarding where the flat is and what options there are near there if youre interested in being near the group. I can accomidate a few people at no charge.

Since its still early and people are still unsure when they are able to be in town (ie. they have tests/exams) i dont want to permanently ink anyone in.
I was going to rent 2 double rooms at the hotel a few blocks away and then in the flat we can have a few folks, so if I had to guesstimate, I'd say our capacity is 12-15 mature people.

Obviously, you can do like EvilDog and avoid that whole mess by being proactive and either getting your own accomidation, or coordinating your own mini-group to share the tab with. OR you could just head home after the meet. I dont want people to think its mandatory or even necessary to literally do the whole overnight multi-day thing. Just use your best judgement, I'm going over there on vacation, as is everyone else, and nobody is there to babysit you.

As of right now the flat I'd like to reserve for people flying in from overseas and remote parts of the world. The hotel rooms i'll just rent fri-sun. Whereas the flat, I had to book for the whole week.

I think the animation conference is possibly the best excuse you could have, as its pretty damn near the truth and sounds legit, if your boss is a nice guy he shouldn't get in your way of aspiring t be an animator....
