I'm sorry good sir or madam but I can't agree with that. I saw Easy Way Out. And I'll admit it was a great movie, had me surprised here and there... and kind of laughing for some weird reason. The ending wasn't expected of me either. But I believe There She Is!!! deserved the spot more than EWO.
I can see where you get the whole "Song and Storytelling" method from both. But if you look at the translation of the Step 4 song, you can see that it only somewhat relates to the video. Which in turn, I believe, Amalloc only used it for the mood. But he didn't need to rely on the song at all, at least not its lyrics or meaning. All he relied on was the character's actions to tell a wonderful story. Which is where I believe splits both creators apart. I'll admit though, the creator of Easy Way Out did something original and I will commend him or her for that.
But I truly do think that There She Is!!! deserved what it deserved. They both teach morals really, at least see one in both (lol) but There She Is!!! reaches out to a lot, a lot of people which is something the SamBakZa crew made sure of. The meaning behind the story is much more universal, something almost everyone can understand. Through its meaning and simple but very effective usage of storytelling (and of course, a heart-wrenching story that I'm sure many cried over) it won the hearts of many voters and thus rocketing themselves and the movie... to number one.
Like you, I could stomach people's comments. I tried to stomach the comments on how EWO should have won. But you went on to explain how it deserved it, and I couldn't help myself. Who would stick up for the cat and bunny? O.o; Anyways this is my two cents. So yeah... don't kill me ^^;;
