mccain is gaining popularity and palin has certainly improved his chances. it seems like obama does not have an answer to palin and it hit his team by surprise. pretty interested to see how obama plans to stay in the fight. but it looks like the republican strategy is going to be too hard to beat..... we will see in november. what do you all think?

I think that Palin is too conservative, unqualified, and was only chosen because Obama didn't choose Hillary. Unfortunately, even though she is SO different from Hillary Clinton, the Palin pick is swaying a lot of women voters. It makes me sad. I can't stand Palin. I voted for Clinton, now I'm for Obama (he was always a close second anyways).

I HOPE that people are not dumb enough to elect someone who chose a vice president who got their passport... what was it... 2 YEARS AGO!!!???? Foreign policy experience my ass. Palin is an absolute joke, and her speech was made up of so many lies I don't see how anyone could trust her. For example she claimed she was against the "bridge to nowhere" when actually she was all for it until it had basically been blocked anyway.

Oh.. and Hillary Clinton supporters should NOT fall this hideously obvious move to draw in their votes.

Both candidates are good. I am barley for McCain though on only TWO reasons though.

Oil drilling (I think of it important for becoming energy independent)
Lower Taxes

Other than that they make both make good points on either topic.

I liked both candidates, but they have shitty VPs. I would not want to see either of there VPs running the country, and it's very likely that given the chances of Obama getting assassinated and McCain dying of <place generic old person's disease here> that Biden or Palin could be running this country. Which is not something I'm happy about.

Do you realize that Obama is not completely against oil drilling? He just wants it to be done CAREFULLY to prevent hurting the environment, and he wants to put money towards alternative energy also so we can get away from oil in the future.

And unless you are rich, McCain isn't the one who is going to significantly lower your taxes. Check this one out:

Hopefully now you are at least "barely for" Obama instead.

Does anyone realize McCain's MOTHER is still alive at 96? She is still mobile and even attended the RNC.

Or the fact that doctor's at the Mayo Clinic said he is in excellent health?

McCain Palin will win if everybody uses common sense at the voting booth. Obama will win if everybody smokes weed before voting.

I don't personally like McCain, but I'm begrudingly going to vote for him because of some of Obama's more radical stances.

First, you do not represent the world. Second, this is yet another example on this site of foreigners force down their ignorant opinions on the throats of Americans trying to control our opinions with threats of "Excommunication" . You bastards need to stop demonizing us for having different views! If Obama wins then he wins because the people of America thought he was the best choice, and it sure as hell won't be because of the opinions of a bunch of kids from abroad who largely know nothing about American affairs. Now leave us the fuck alone!

That was something different. But I have not heard anything about Obama wanting to drill on the coast yet. And I am very sure that McCain want it to be done CAREFULLY as well too. He believes in global warming unlike Bush.

With Palin under Mccain, its a tough fight but I think that the seemingly "winning" Obama would lose as not really much would support a black leader. Even if Obama becomes Prez, there is still the KKK aight?

The fact that the world wants Obama is a factor...but in the negative column for me. See I'm literally a student of International Relations. I am not easily swayed by this delusional utopian tripe about how the world is one big happy global village. The truth is, it is an anarchical system that is competitive by nature. So why would the rest of the world want Obama if not for selfish reasons and the good of their own nation or Union?

Look I'm tired of people coming on here and telling us how America should change our ways (gun control and healthcare leap to mind). I don't fucking care. There is a reason my ancestors left Europe. It was because they could see that Europe was shit. Yeah the Enlightenment was good and all...but its principles were not being applied. In the US my family could leave the peasantry and indentured servitude of Germany behind and become land owners themselves.

So, you can take your opinions of who my next president should be and ballot them in your little "world elections" like Europe had in 2004...and stuff 'em.

but he if u want to be excommunicated, sort a speak

See the point about a state of anarchy. Who is big enough (until Obama takes the US and the rest of the West into financial ruin) to excommunicate us? What arrogance.

this is the problem, in my post I am not implying my own opinion, personally I favor mccain!!!

whenever a foreigner opens their thoughts on american politics its set a side as crapp and 'who are you to speak' and 'i dont care what foreigners think' etc etc.. its also ALWAYS seen as an attack its extremely hard to debate american politics with an american as a foreigner. Why? you all know damn well american politics has a great influence the world, so its inevitable people who are NOT from the states have things to say about it. I could not imagine that my choice of vote would be mainly determined by influences form abroad, that I get, but the worlds view on america has an undeniable affect on your country. If I have to weigh the pro's and con's of a president it would be a factor.

so instead of going into defense mode all the time, let foregneirs debate a bit with you guys, its not all bad.

Where is the debate? Nobody said "I think you guys should vote for Obama because...". Animehater was replying to a Canadian who said: " If obama doesn't get elected, the rest of the world will lose what little hope we have left in the american people."

That's not a debate, that's an insult. That's basically saying. "if you don't choose your leader based on what we who are not Americans want, fuck you". Non-Americans like Shaun like Obama because they think he'll be good for them, not because they think he'll be good for Americans.

Pretty funny that it's people who already hate the US that support Obama. You'd figure that their support for him would make Americans less likely to vote for Obama.

Yay, Obama won. Let's thank his supporters:
-The compliant mainstream media for their pro-Obama propaganda.
-Black Panthers for their intimidation of voters.

I wouldn't go that far. The global stage is dominated by national interests, but there are alliances and there is something of a community. Consider that Europe has a vested interest in the US having a strong economy.

Look I'm tired of people coming on here and telling us how America should change our ways (gun control and healthcare leap to mind). I don't fucking care. There is a reason my ancestors left Europe. That's an interesting point. A lot of socialists like to focus on how people can evade responsibility for their own failures, but don't really consider that a person also loses some of the right to enjoy their own success.

The current investment banking crisis is a clear symptom of what's wrong with the nanny state. When you take the right to fail away from the banks, they lose the sense of caution that they should be employing.

To say "I love you", one must first learn to say "I".

Palin is an absolute joke. She tried to ban books and thinks dinosaurs existed 4000 years ago. Is that really someone you want as VP and possible president if something were to happen to McCain? Don't kid yourself. And McCain? You might as well try and re-elect Bush, cause that's basically what you're doing. McCain and Bush think VERY alike and the state of the white house won't change until 2012, or possibly 2016 if people are dumb enough to re-elect him.

Please, vota Obama, for your sake and mine.

You've said that before and you've also contradicted yourself with another statement many times.

"Foreigners want Obama because they think they'll be better for their own country rather than the US"

But when someone starts rooting for the downfall of the US you are quick to point out that the world economy is dependent on the US and that it's likely their country would fall as a result of an economic collapse in the US, thus suggesting that foreign nations should want what's best for the American economy.

So if foreign nations should hope for what's best for the US economy to help propel their own economy, well when they root for Obama, is it not because he will help their nation subsequently through helping the US economically?

Therefore stating that foreigners like Obama because he helps their nations is a moot point as he would help their nations by helping America.

Yes, that's EXACTLY what we need to do. We depend too much on oil, so we should just go drill MORE of it! Brilliant plan there.

As someone said already, Obama isn't anti-drilling; he's pro-solving-our-energy-crisis-by-making-
us-not-depend-on-oil. McCain is like an alcoholic who is broke from going out to bars every not, so now he's making his own booze at home. The problem is not solved.

Lower Taxes

You've got that one backwards, bub. Just because Republicans claim they are the "lower taxes" party and Obama is going to steal all your moneys does not make it true.

Other than that they make both make good points on either topic.

No. OBAMA does.
