I'll post a pic so you know what I mean.
I'm trying to animate little waves or whatever. Not waves exactly, but the sparkle from a water I guess. The sparkle I have is the little white lines in the water. I need suggestions and how to information.

Ok. But how? Do I make them look as if they're coming forward. Basically I need an example on how to animate it.

I'd suggest watching Adam Phillips' Prowlies at the river and observing how he does it.

It's called the 'Scribble Cell' effect.
Adam Philips has a tutorial on his blog on how to do it in Flash

Nice! Ive done water like this for ages and even wrote a tutorial on it a while back... never knew philips uses the same technique!
