I'm not going to say spoiled. But the Pats were far from a classy team last season. First it starts off with spygate which itself leaves a big mark on the team. And then the resulting instances of running up the score as a response to people who said that they wouldn't be as good if they weren't taking signals was a bit childish on the part of Belichick in my opinion. I would expect a classy and mature team to just play the game how they normally would play it, and not worry about what the fans of the other teams say because by reacting the way they did, they were sinking down to the level of those fans. They played the villain of the league last season and did so with enjoyment and many will see Brady going down as a sort of karma.

People, he hasn't even had an MRI yet, how the hell are we supposed to know anything?
Ah yes, of course because a phantom "member" who shall not be named of the Patriots said Cassel was the starter.
Regardless, even if Brady is still out for the season we can still make fun of Kansas City for sucking so bad that they lost to a backup.

Well thats it folks, the Patriots season is over, the only reason Cassel looked decent was because KC has one of the worst defenses in the league. With that the Pats only won by 7, no matter who they get to be the QB they are not going to make the playoffs this season.
Cowboys for the Superbowl this year.

I just had a draft today actually and I'm so glad someone drafted him before me because I was going to take him. Instead I got Peyton Manning and I think I'll be much happier.
Also it's 73% of those people who quit.

Which quite a few teams have admitted to since. Actually, the only reason why we lost number one draft pick was because we were the first ones caught.
... not that I disagree with our punishment. I mean... c'mon. A team can't go 18-1 and still get number one draft pick. Even I think that's unfair.
And then the resulting instances of running up the score as a response to people who said that they wouldn't be as good if they weren't taking signals was a bit childish on the part of Belichick in my opinion.
Pfft. The "running up of the score" was not a response to naysayers at all. It's simply an extension of the team's mantra that any game/season/play/etc. is not over until the refs blow the whistle. The Patriots look at a 30-10 game in the latter half of the fourth quarter as a game tied 0-0. And in that situation, all it takes is a hail mary, two point conversion, fumble return touchdown and an interception leading to a field goal to win.
Not only was the super bowl a realization of that fear, but for the first couple years of New England's success, that was HOW WE WON THEM.
Honestly... how the fuck are you going to criticize a team for scoring a lot of points?
I would expect a classy and mature team to just play the game how they normally would play it, and not worry about what the fans of the other teams say because by reacting the way they did, they were sinking down to the level of those fans.
... I think what I've written above speaks to this before I'd even read this part of your opinion.
They played the villain of the league last season and did so with enjoyment and many will see Brady going down as a sort of karma.
The Patriots consider last year's season a losing season. The only reason they were league villains is because they were DESTROYING records at the expense of every other team's success.
How many commercials did you see on television last year with Tom Brady or any other member of the Patriot's team selling you a product with a shit-eating grin on their face? Do you know how much money advertisers would pay to get Tom Brady to push their product? ASSLOADS. His numbers make him the best quarterback the sport has ever seen. Yet game after game the only football faces I saw during the commercials was the half-dozen Peyton Manning spots and that one Tomlinson commercial.
Brady plays the game to win and plays football for the enjoyment of the sport. Patriots players have a history of accepting less pay then they're worth to stay on the team because they love the organization, love the fans, and enjoy the sport itself, not the money and glamor associated with it.
Seriously... watch Brady's 60 minutes interview. The organization is humble. He appears practically uncomfortable fielding questions about the undefeated season.

Any questions fielded regarding their undefeated season last year were always answered with "we take things one game at a time." If asked to comment, every player always said something along the lines of "The only thing on our mind right now is next week."
Never any bragging. Actually, we've got Randy Moss for one year and our organization's turned him from loud-mouthed trouble-making big-headed talent to just another gear in the machine.
Seriously, when I hear people criticizing the Patriots for acting spoiled it just screams "I've never even seen a team member interviewed."
Actually it's the fans, not the actual team that is arrogant. And I''m talking about YOU.
On a side note, I went to the Saints game yesterday; and their offense is better than ever. And they didn't even play Deuce McAllister. They just need to tighten up defense.

Wow that sucks... I figured a few weeks, I never would have seen "the whole season" coming.
I'm not a fan of the team but I always hate to see players get hurt like that.

Ha ha. How am I arrogant? The New England Patriots are the best team of this era of football. That's not arrogance, that's fact. Besides, disliking a team as the result of the team's fans is absolutely retarded. Even though we've lost the past two Super Bowls in a row despite winning seasons, it's not because we SHOULD have lost, but because when it came down to it we failed to win. Both times we were the odds-on favorites.
"Tom Brady's such a huge asshole, I hate that guy!"
"How come?"
"His fans worship him, the arrogant pricks."

Actually, I thought about it some more and would like to posit the following question: who's displaying more arrogance here? I mean, "Tom Brady Out For The Season" is the topic title, and the majority of responses here are "Well, looks like the Patriots aren't in contention for the Super Bowl this year."
What the fuck? Tom Brady is still a part of the team so he'll still be involved in the preparations quarterbacks are making at practice every week. We still have all the rest of our team. And if you recall, toward the end of the last season Brady's effectiveness dwindled anyway. Teams started stopping the hail mary style play before Brady could even throw the ball. We were resorting to a running-style game toward the end of last year anyway. We've still got Welker who was absolutely outstanding last season, still got Moss who's ability to lose coverage even when double covered is unparalleled, and we've still got a multitude of other offensive and defensive talents to keep us competitive.

I'm going to adopt that attitude. Seriously, I am not an "arrogant New England fan," I was very sad they lost the Super Bowl, but you take it in stride and hope people move on from this.
However it's impossible in the football world. Just impossible.

It was San Francisco's fault for such a stupid trade in the first place.
Pfft. The "running up of the score" was not a response to naysayers at all. It's simply an extension of the team's mantra that any game/season/play/etc. is not over until the refs blow the whistle. Yeah but i bet they wish they had Matt Cassell in for mop up duty when they we're up by 30+ points those few times to get him some expierence, the man hasn't started a game since 1999 in his senior year in high school he had to back up Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart in USC and was a 7th round pick, yeah he's still an unknown but he pretty much has had nothing but a mental aspect of the game throughout his career, you can make a case why he was so steady in coming in for Brady being that Kansas City is not only a bad football team but they didn't even prepare for Cassell either their main focus was on Brady and Brady alone for the most part now that every defensive coordinator knows Brady is gone and it will be Cassell playing they can put their focus on him and what he's good at and not good at and one more thing i am not fully confident in that New England running game with Laurence Maroney,Sammy Morris and LaMont Jordan i always thought Brady just made that running game with the defense main focus being attended to the passing game.
Not only was the super bowl a realization of that fear, but for the first couple years of New England's success, that was HOW WE WON THEM.
Example: 2001
Honestly... how the fuck are you going to criticize a team for scoring a lot of points?
I don't remember bitchiness about the 1998 Vikings when they scored 556 points.
I would expect a classy and mature team to just play the game how they normally would play it, and not worry about what the fans of the other teams say because by reacting the way they did, they were sinking down to the level of those fans.

A huge point there but i actually do remember Brady doing a cologne commercial not too long ago and he is in quite a few magazines too but you are right about him doing no TV commercials,a good example about Mr.Hollywood and not getting the job done when it counts Mr.Tony Romo
Seriously... watch Brady's 60 minutes interview. The organization is humble. He appears practically uncomfortable fielding questions about the undefeated season.
Yeah the one time i don't remember him being humble really last year is when he laughed at Plaxico Burress' points prediction for the Super Bowl last year but other then that he really just kept it cool the entire year.
You all who are counting the Pats out right off the rip get ready for a reality check because they are still going to win the division and they are still going to win 11 or 12 games cause seriously name me a better situation for a quarterback to come to then this New England Patriot team with Randy Moss being double covered on almost every play and having the best slot receiver in the game in Wes Welker then you got one of the best Tight Ends in the game in Ben Watson which the Tight End is a noob quarterback's best friend in the first place and you throw in a few years expierence with that set offense mentally then lastly you throw in a veteran defense that can still be great seriously you can't have a better situation then that and does anybody remember Kyle Orton and the Bears in 2005 when Rex Grossman (not saying he's Tom Brady) but he was the projected starting quarterback none the less and Kyle Orton just got drafted so he was the starter and because of the team around him he still won 11 games, this might be a quarterback driven league but if quarterbacks like Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson can win a Super Bowl so can Matt Cassell.

Also Brady's Visa commercials come to mind. So what if Romo does a few commercials? You saw his performance against the Browns, they dominated, its his personal life and who are you or anyone to scrutinize what he does. As long as he works hard and prepares for every game then I have no problem with it,
.

I have to disagree with you, I am counting them out, the Patriots defense is not that good and it was the offense that covered up all of the the defenses weaknesses last year due to teams having to throw and catch up from behind. The Pats defense is old and are going to be exploited all year long.
