I've seen it done on some tutorials, but that was using CS3, and I have Flash 8...Is it different on CS3 to 8?
I also think that I saw a Flash 8 plug-in for it, but I can't seem to find it anymore..
Anyone know how to help?
View, as in preview the frames on the timeline?
Find the little menu button the far upper right of the timeline. Should be options on how to view the frames, select 'preview'.

Do you mean preview it? Select the first frame and hit enter.
Clicking on the first frame then clicking enter don't support AS.
If you're on about what I think you're on about, those aren't movieclips, they're graphics. Graphic symbols are synced to the timeline so that when you put them in animations you see the different frames while you work.
Today all the questions that are being asked are really simple. It's getting boring.
He didn't ask it to support AS.
@ topic starter, if we haven't solved your problem with our varied solutions would you mind explaining in more depth.

First of all: What Unknown said
Next: Then go outside and have some fun instead of trying to post advice and failing. ( For instance you said "CS3 doesn't support code in buttons" when it does. It's AS3 not CS3)
Sorry, I don't seem to be explaining myself properly.
If you have a Movie Clip with multiple frames on your main timeline, such as a walk cycle MC or whatever, and if you then hit enter, or drag your red thing along the frames, you only see the first frame of the Movie Clip. Is there any way to see the frames as they would play in the preview?
Not in the timeline, I don't think, unless theres an add-on. Just use ctrl+enter?
