fla is a working file it's not w movie finished files are exported to .swf those are movies that flash player can play .fla only work when you open them with flash and i don't mean the program

that's done by importing a swf or opening fla file then just press ctrl+enter

Well the fla. file is the editing file, the actual flash program it self, the swf. file is the move file, JUST the movie, well to convert it make all your finishing touches, save it and stuff, then click publish, your swf. file will be in the part where you published it with a different icon

well i'm a noob and have no clue how to make this stupid thing work. i am playing with the trail adobe cs4. i have a .fla file that i want in .swf. i tried exporting it as a movie (as i read to do) and nothing happened. the file didn't appear anywhere i tried exporting it. now what? i also tried publishing but it said the parameter was incorrect. what the heck does that mean. i have no idea. little help?

I don't know what your problem ( with flash not with you) but since you're new I'll go easy on you. You kind of just stole this thread from someone else. The picture is completely unrelated. Include picture is optional and usualy only used in art threads or where neccesary for the topic. Also try exporting the swf file not the movie file. The swf is a form of movie file that can be read by adobe flash player
